Deep Ellum is THE place to be in Dallas.

I don't take it seriously that we're booked in a Deep Ellum club because, well, we're Cowpilot and we don't care, but it would be a big deal if we were given to considering such things.

Now the Highland Village Balloon Festival? That, my friends, is going to be a cool gig, and I'm not even kidding. We're booked to play that one on Friday night and Saturday afternoon (I forget the dates but I'm sure it will be Africa Hot) and we can expect to have 10 to 12 thousand people there.

I see that it is August 18th and 19th. Thank God we have management.

Friday night shouldn't be too bad.

"I'll see you in hell." is the phrase that comes to mind for Saturday from 3-5. And that is to be taken literally.

This Thursday, but now we're up to like four bands on the bill so Cowpilot - at least we're first, at 9 pm - will likely play a scintillating seven minute set.

Okay, more like 30 minutes. I won't blame you guys if you bail. (I would never blame you for bailing on ANY Cowpilot gig, actually.)

It's going to be interesting to see how (if) we go over, I'll say that. Andy says he's going to wear a wife beater and a thong.

are you playing that gig on the tenth of aug?

I think that's if we don't bomb this week. So.....could be, could be. I don't have a real firm idea on that one. I have this feeling I should call our manager.

But I'd rather talk to you and drink martinis.

I always have time for someone offering me food, Tiffs, never doubt it.

BTW, are you coming in to Dallas early? I'm asking so that I have time to go ahead and kill my in-laws, who are apparently never going to buy their own freaking house.
