Nice looking guitar you've got there. And no whammy to abuse either!

enjoy it and welcome to the Al club...

I actually ordred it with a trem, but after seeing my JP demo video, EBMM decided that I would no longer be allowed to purchase any trem/whammy equipped guitars from them.

At least not unitl I can afford one.

I been "waiting with you" - so glad you have finally got it.

It took me a while to get to know my Albert, but it's my #1 now.

Hope you love it as much as I love mine.
Now all you gotta do is order one with MM90's and keep Big Poppa happy !!

I know you have and man, I appreciate it!

I have been playing my JP pretty exclusively for the last 6 months or so, and the feel is quite a bit different. The first thing I noticed while playing is how raw the back of the neck feels. My JP is a few years old and has been "oiled" over time by my greasy Iti skin. It's quite a bit "smoother" feeling than the raw AL, not that there's anything wrong with that! Just looking forward to DNAing up my new toy.

So I slapped some of my favorite strings on (ST/HB Slinkys) and adjusted the saddles to where I like 'em (just a tad lower than factory on the outside 4 strings, 1 turn and 1/2 turn moving inward respectively - not much of an adjustment, but makes a difference for me). I then plugged it into the 'ol Orange RV and let 'er rip. All I know is I should have ordered it in Jalapeno Red because this thing is just on fire! Absolutlely amazing.

I believe it was some homeless dude on the forum :)p ) who said the AL is what a strat wishes it could be - and he was dead right. I have played a ridiculous number of strats in my day and not one of them is as comfortable, well balanced or as finely wrought as this toneful flame thrower. Not a one. It just begs to be played too - right now I can feel it's anger at me as I sit here letting you guys know what I think about it. I know I'm in for trouble when I head back into the dungeon for more dangerous thrill seeking...

The biggest surprise? To me, it was the middle pickup, not in combo with the bridge and neck, but by itself. I have never played an SSS guitar with a middle pickup used as anything other than augmentation, but in this thing - all by itself - I absolutely love it. What a smoking rhythm sound - wow! And then, for kicks and giggles, I decided to turn up the gain on the dirty channel and engage the neck pickup. Oh my. Oh my my. I have to go now, I am being summoned......

Man...that is some killer looking siding and air conditioner...oh yeah, nice AL! ;)

The secret to successful siding is to make sure you've caged the little dog so it doesn't trip over the extension cord and pull down your ladder with expensive nail gain attached and sitting on the top. :p

That's a great write up of the AL Norrin, and I guess you're liking it.
Regarding the middle pick up - I know where you're coming from!!!
I play most of the time through my Pod XT into the Marshall return loop and I'm amazed by the range I get with the SSS.
Oh and regarding your query the answer is ......
57.#'; et567 fghgh nnnnnn only 5 times though, i'm a lot older now.

The color of your Al makes it's look quite Vintage in spite of it's modern shape...

Your description is very helpful for someone considering the future purchase of an Al... very good breakdown of the Al's virtures...

How does the Tele pickup sound all by itself..?

It sounds superb! It's kind of like a Tele bridge pickup on HGH - all the regular expectations met but a little more "ummph" for hitting that homer. Guess I ought to get a Giants cap for the headstock. :D

It actually sounds very very good pushing a lot of gain on the amp too - it had a lot more bite than I expected - and that's a good thing.

You know, I've hardly even moved the tone knob on the guitar yet - did for just a few minutes - I then realized I've got another whole new world to discover. Yowza! :)

Big Mike -

Thanks. I kind of like the idea of the modern shape in a more vintage style color. Although, the guitar is asking to be a bit more evil - doesn't care much for it's "angelic" appearance. Was asking for some "black, because that's what all the 'evil' kids wear these days". Might be throwing some black knobs and PU covers on - we'll see.
