The AL MM90 that Fingbeagles had for sale ended up in my house a few weeks back.

This guitar is just awesome. As I mentioned to Keith in an e-mail, it makes me play differently than on my other EBMMs b/c of both its feel and its sound. I love playing it.

The neck is great, and the whole guitar resonates quite nicely. I'm coming up with some rather inspired licks (at least for me) to solo over "Take Five", which has personally been a tough song for me to improvise over.

I know the common wisdom is that only poor craftsmen blame tools when things don't work out. Given my experience with this guitar, perhaps there are occasions where the right tool inspires better work.

I fear that this affair with the AL could be dangerous...

I was warned, I know.

Oh dear.

;-)

Best,
Marc

Marc glad you are loving the AL, yes it is a different beast, that one really is and oh yea GAS is hard, you really need to try an HH AL:) Not your normal 2 humbucker guitar:D

There's no way one can possibly go wrong with an Albert Lee. No matter which flavor you chose, they're all absolutely perfect! Funny how they're so hard to get by here in Germany...I have yet to see a store having one in stock. They're usually being looked upon as a one-trick-pony country guitar around here and in fact nothing could be further from the truth. Can't speak for the HH version but the reg. AL is the best sounding, most comfortable and genius looking single coil guitar one could ever wish to own.

Congrats again Marcus, that's a fing great AL you have there!

Marc - I know what you mean about making you play better - I get much better vibrato pushing up the strings on the AL. I played my Les Paul the other weekend after not playing it for a long time and my vibrato was not as strong.
I love the AL - now get it an SSS brother;)
