Forum member only LE?

people on the bass side of things are dreaming up a forum member only LE. this is definately just a dream at this point but i figure you guys shouldnt be left out (and maybe more voices can help convince EB to actually do this).

thread is at: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6157

ps for the mods: i didnt see anything about this on the guitar side of the fence. if its a duplicate please ditch this thread

I love the idea of a forumites-only LTD ED axe, but since I'm on a forced ONE YEAR, NO GUITARS gas-sabatical, I think we should definitely wait until 2006 to organize this ;)

Of course, the biggest problem would be deciding which model to make it; I vote for Axis, but others would want something else, and it could get ugly before a decision was made... Maybe we could pull for a forumites-only finish/hardware combo that would include something like a special Forum Neck Plate, and headstock or backplate signatures from Dudley and Sterling, on a numbered series of guitars and basses with a special finish...

I'm all for it, I like the idea of special colors and niceties for the EBMM line of instruments.

I'd like to hear from someone at EBMM if this is a viable thing? Set a drop dead date for members eligibility and then make the offer.

Dare to be different. We all know that EBMM has superior customer service, this would just put you guys over the top in my book.

Well I just read the Bass sides thread and I still think that this idea is awesome. I like the take they have over there about taking some of the funds an putting them toward the Casey Lee Ball Foundation.

I also like the idea of having the forum members name on the instrument, but I think for EBMM it would be easier to do that on the neck plate, but that's just a thought.

I like the Grape Dawn idea, but I'd like to see that. A Copper sparkle or Copper color would be sweet. :)

Just some thought. Later, Glenn |B)

Well I did agree with you and then I got thinking about Orange Sparkle Dawn or Orange Sparkle.

http://tdlguitars.com/Paint_Prices.html Check out the "Orange Sparkle", maybe EBMM could send them out for the sparkle paint job, as long as they think that this places quality is up to their standards. Just a thought.

I find the idea of a forum LE guitar intriguing. I think it would be one of the coolest things a company ever did. Grape Dawn gets my vote too. Here is where the hard stuff comes in. EB won’t sell guitars except through a dealer. So we need a dealer who is a forum member. But if they sell a kind of guitar to one dealer then would need to make it available to all dealers? I wish EB would make a one time offer to individuals. But alas, on the totem pole of important we forumites ain’t that high.

Other ideas I would like to offer are:
Personalized neck plates. If they could stamp our user names on the back that would be way cool.
Have jonguitarz’s secretary ;) format something cheesy in a word processing program as “a letter of authenticity” on who this guitar was built for.

Norm, when EBMM does the Casey Lee Ball Foundation sales it done via Evilbay, winners can use credit cards, if I'm not mistaken. Why couldn't they do the LE's the same way and like I said before donate a % to CLB. We win and CLB wins, but most of all EBMM shows that they're customer service is as we all know that it is awesome.

So go through the dealers who are also forum members? There's at least 2 on this board, Bassplyr (Doug? I believe) and I.....

I would do it as long as the prices were set in stone by EB, I wouldn't even care if there was no dealer margin, just roll it right out the door, and what would normally be dealer margin goes to CLBF :D

Pete, I see why everybody says that they're buying there next instruments from you. Nice to see that you make that type of choice. It's refreshing in this day and age.

So, you have anything sparkley in stock?? Just kidding.

Sounds like we could all work with that. :)
