Also.... this is for anyone out there who cuts on the Bongo's looks... this one might be the ugliest bass ever made:

I happen to love those, too. :mad: The Ovation with flats is a great sounding bass. And, don't knock stereo basses until you've tried one. Sending each pickup into it's own amp is a luxury most bass players don't get to enjoy, but it creates a wall of sound that guitar players are scared to be in the same state with!

Sorry man.... ;) I am sure it was innovative for the time. But those looks....

And stereo is a nice idea, but I don't think it is terribly practicle, not for me at least. I think bi-amping is a better alternative- and you don't need a special bass.

And I think bi-amping sounds like crap. So, to each his own.


And, whoever said practical was better? Don't forget--this is from an era when bass players would routinely take TWO SVT 8x10 cabs to bar gigs... :eek:

Yeah... the seventies.... (or late seventies)... *sigh* I remember reading about Jonh Entwistle's gear- it was insane! I think he had a huge seperate amp for each string or something. Good point about the practicality....

Still like bi-amping, though.... works fer me.
