I was so "gassy" with the new 20thSR5 pics/thread.... and now this.... s**t.
The way I see it, bullets fly in both directions.
It's an action <---> reaction thing and when it bounces things heat up and we all get a piece of the bad energy cake others bake.
My point is.... if it's out of line - delete it and have no second thoughts, if you leave it - we also need to constrain our reactions (and this goes for everybody).

peace :)

Slackjawed nuts roasting on an open fire
bovinehost nipping at your posts
one-off basses Dargin shows us today
and BP still not in SLO

Everybody knows a Stingray and a Markbass amp
Help to make your tone just right
Keyboard warriors, their red eyes all aglow
Make it hard for mods to sleep at night

They know that BP is on his way
He's loaded lots of strings and tone-woods on his sleigh
And every gear whore is gonna spy
To see if Chuck Ward will unzip his fly

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
For knuckleheads from one to ninety two
Although its been said many times many ways
Slackjawed nutjobs to you.

yes jackie

plato has sure come around to really understandthis place

Ahmmm.... I think this is a good thing... unless I'm missing something behind the lines here that is....

Anyway, I'm back to see what's new on the 20thSR5 thread as this thread is bending the attention away from it.

Holy Mother of Zuess!

I am out of town currently and have very limited access to the one place I call "Home" on this funny place called the 'Net. I have family and very good friends here and I see this.....

I will not fuel the fire and go off on a tirade as I have been known to in the past.

BP/Jack/Arin/EBMM....I would take a bullet for ya....but this has been taken care of I see. So, no need to "lock and load" at this time.

I have said it before and I will say it different this time....and you can quote me..

"This is Big Poppa's HOUSE....you should conduct yourself as if you are in your own home. The "Freedom of Speech" flag that is being thrown around here does NOT apply. I have done my time in places you could not imagine defending my beloved Constitution like Jack and others before and after me. However, it does NOT apply here. I will also defend Big Poppa, Jack and others here from those who want to act like an idiot. I have done it....Battle of the Bands anyone?
Treat this man with respect....he is more to me than a CEO of a kick A$$ company...he is a personal friend of mine. Don't like what you see...move to another thread. Think...then type. Don't start none, won't be none. Don't threaten him or others here...I can find you. I have done it. E-mail me if you don't like me...I will respond when I get home....PM me if you like....but again, this forum was put here by Big Poppa for us....if you don't know what that means, it is a PRIVILEDGE! If you can't understand that...do not log in....go get a dictionary and look up the word to understand you can't run your flap anyway you like."

Now Jack.....if you have met him...you already know! SUPER COOL DUDE! If you have not.....you are missing out. But, if you have a problem with him...be a man about it and don't call him names....PM him and hash it out with him privately.....

The tissue full of fish hooks can be sent care of me if you wish.

This thread and the 20th SR5 thread are a great illustration as to why most manufactures don't interact with the public on internet forums. Free speech has nothing to do with an internet forum that none of us pay to support. . Problems arise when someone doesn't know when to just stop typing and keep their opinion to themselves. I'm sure most members here would think I'm nuts because I purchased and sold 5 EBMM basses since February. I just haven't been able to set one up and feel comfortable playing it. I'm also intelligent enough to not type some stupid ass remark about it on this forum. I intend to purchase another and see this time, if Bovine and others here can help me with the setup. Sorry for this rambling post but I've spent alot of time reading these threads and had to post something. A good thing for everyone to do before they post is ask themselves if they should just shut the **** up. I'll bet the answer would be yes quite a bit. Thanks to BP for allowing me the opportunity to post this babbling mess. Carry on folks...

Loooong rant. . .

Man, I'm sorry to say, but since this came up again. . . I hope I get a chance to speak my mind.

I have been through this once already with BP, freedom to express our opinions, etc. . .

I love EB/MM and its products. I'm 36. When I started playing guitar at 13, I used to save all the money I could get to buy a pack of Ernie Ball strings. I'm from a South American country, so buying a set of strings was a big deal then. I used to collect Ernie Ball picks. I used to save the Ernie Ball string packets and put them up in my room's wall as decoration. They were my treasures.

I grew up, moved to The States, became a bass player and now have an average income with enough extra to buy any bass I want. I'm a professional musician. I still love EB/MM products and have lucky enough to indulge in several of them.

I come here hoping to share my experiences and my love for the brand, but I encounter that I cannot discuss any technical "problems," because I'm instructed to hush and call Customer Service. I understand that calling Customer Service for any problems with my bass makes a lot of sense, but sometimes a like to a get a third-party opinion. There shouldn't be anything wrong with that. I'm smart enough to make a decision for myself based on all the information I receive from different sources.

Or when I don't like a particular product or feature, I have to keep my mouth shut because I know many people will get offended by my opinion!

So, yes, this is a private forum, but life is not perfect, and no brand, company or product is perfect, we all have defects, and somebody's defect will be somebody else's favorite feature.

I understand the devotion and respect many of you have, but wanting to keep this forum away from reality and only keeping the funny jokes and the endless and unconditional worship, irritates me.

This is already one of the cleanest forums in the music business, but I don't see the value of being in a forum where all the post are wanted to be kept 100% biased.

One definition of forum is: a public meeting place for open discussion.

So, change the name of this "forum" to "The EB/MM Private Board," or something like that, and place a huge banner of top with the conditions you have here.

That way you won't get unwanted, free opinions.

You say this is BP's living room. Well, if you don't want strangers to come in this living room and start screaming, "this house is ugly," then either close the door and only let your educated friends come in, or place a big warning sign by the front door explaining that you will shoot anybody that doesn't like this house. They are in your house, but the door seemed to be open for everybody.... It can be confusing.

Hope you get to see our point of view ("our" meaning those who find this club a little overprotecting and overreacting sometimes).

I still want to be part of this community, I have 3 Ernie Ball t-shirts that I wear all the time, I play my EB/MM instruments regularly, I still have my collection of EB picks. . .

Man, but I want to share my true feelings and opinions with you guys, not sugar-coat everything to please everybody.

I agree with Jack, and as soon as I read his post, I went back and deleted my post, but the fact that people had quoted me on it, and they did not edit their post, well I guess that did not help anything. I deleted about 3 follow up posts as well, basically because I realized that what i said, rather than just being a light comment of "hey, wouldjya lookit that! :)' it was taken as being an accusation. Great group of people here, it just seems sometimes friendly observations could be taken too harshly and blown out of proportion. Everyone who is here is here for a reason. We love this company and these basses. There have been a few trolls that have come by and left not-so-quietly, but in the end we are all here. Every one of us shares the same passion. Let's all just remember that. I think there is a difference between someone who says a light hearted comment and someone who knocks things. I worship ebmm instruments as if they are a gift from God. They are the best things I have ever played and heard. But I think we should allow a little more room (as compared to no room at all) for constructive criticism. It is with good intention, not malice.

To the guys at EBMM. Keep up the good work. The longer you put out great products, the more money I get to shell over to increase my collection.

This whole "free speech" thing has had me a bit concerned this morning. It seems to be some sort of rallying cry that I'm seeing more and more often with no other purpose than a self serving one. Jack, as always, has summed things up quite well. But of course, I like to throw in my 2 zinc colored lincolns so here goes:

From the Bill of Rights:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I see nothing in there that prohibits private citizens asking/telling other private citizens to pipe down due to lack of decorum. And if you truly believed in free speech you wouldn't have any heartburn over me asking you to stow it since that would be me exercising my right of free speech.

And as too being a "public" forum, it isn't. Tax dollars do not fund this site and therefore the rights negotiated between citizens and the government do not apply since the government is not involved.

I'm going to go take a nap now.

Figgy,

All's well that ends well.

Now send me some money for my 20th SR5. I'm working on a way to make it tax-deductible.

the maybe I could try Reverend Bongo out for a while,

Me comprendes?

Por casualided, conoces este hombre, Felix Navidad? Todo el mundo esta hablando de este mequetrefe.

You get your opinion. You want me to rename the forum because you dont agree with how I run it. WIll you still disagree? Yes.
Posting your problems here BEFORE going to customer service just makes things really bulky and bad. You dont have to clean up the mess from misinformation on the net. We do.

I have asked that people give the professional commited talented people that I pay to take care of problems before they are broadcast to the world.... If you want a second opinion here fine...if you want to beat it into the ground then there are other forums that are for profit and post away.

You know what the saying is that the customer is always right? Guess what they are almost 85% wrong and I pay a staff to handle it quietly. Most instruments with problems have been modified improperly, or re setup by people without a clue. It is almost NEVER our problem. Ask Jon....

I have never said this is my living room. People try to give this forum to you in a way you can understand. I say dont say anything here that you wouldnt say to someones face...

Maybe you cant handle that if you bite you will get bit back. Show me a thread or conflict that jack Arin or I started.
