Me comprendes?

Por casualided, conoces este hombre, Felix Navidad? Todo el mundo esta hablando de este mequetrefe.

Jack

Hey, BP, sorry I brought up the issue of Customer Service again. I forgot the reasons have been explained and validated already.

Jack, I'm from Venezuela, but I live in Miami, which is South America's melting pot. My wife is Cuban-Ecuadorian (via Chicago), my best friends are Peruvian, Dominican, Cuban, etc., etc... It is a true Latin party down here.

I got your point and I understand the reasons; I just wanted to vent one more time, so I went ahead I got all I had to say out.

I don't want to keep pounding on the G&L thing, but who cares who did it first? The fact is that G&L are recognizable for having two humbuckers with large pole pieces, active electronics, maple tops, no pickguards, 34"-scale, etc.

I don't see what is the offense or the line that was crossed. In my eyes, it does resemble a G&L, but it looks fantastic and I bet it will be a tone monster, and we know there is no real comparison when we get the chance to play one.

That is like writing a song in fretless bass using harmonics, and when I show it to somebody the first thing they mention is that it sounds like Jaco. Should I get upset? No. It is still a remarkable and incredibly beautiful masterpiece? Most likely. And I have been composing on fretless using harmonics since 1965, years before Jaco was known.

You know you are going to sell as many 20th Anniversary SR5s as you can build.

I think the comments were light-hearted, honest remarks with no ill intentions.

Oh, BTW, Jack, yeah, that Felix Navidad is everywhere, but I haven't seen him yet.

Now is the time to let it go and to either understand and accept that this is not a wide-open, everything-goes internet wrestling via keyboard forum....and there are a few, and we all know where they are, God bless them...or to prepare for me to go ahead and moderate offending posts a little more severely.

Do I want to do that? No.

So can we all STF up about it?

Thanks, boyos.

Jack

I understood that about 2 seconds after I posted last nite. I am well known in real-life and "other" forums as an insensitive lout. But I don't wanna do that here. I just want people to like me. But my mom and my uncle bob abused me when I was 6 and... oh never mind... you wouldn't understand...

*runs from forum weeping*

the thing that gets me is when somebody posts their opinion....but then feels the need to re-post....re-post....re-post......defend......re-post and defend some more. The opinion has been expressed.....time to move on to more constructive conversatsions! As far as the "warning sign" or "closed door" goes thats just silly! We have GREAT monitors that do an excellent job of maintaining the Forum.....if somebody gets out of line or crosses "the line" then they will be notified by a moderator. Our doors are always open here.....but once your inside the house we still ask that you respect it and our family members! Now back to saving the world one guitar at a time......

I will be headed up to Northern California for Xmas tonight(and the 3rd Annual Scoles Family Cabo-Wabo Christmas Party).....So I wish you all a very safe and Merry Christmas!!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS FRIENDS!!!

Free Speech tastes of strawberries.

I edit a small local magazine. I'm proud of it's 30 or so glossy pages. At no point in those pages can I just, say anything I want. Sure, the Bill of Rights gives you the right to run off at the mouth all you want, but it doesn't remove the consequences of your speech. Seems kind of petty to say a bunch of stuff and then get mad when someone takes offense or just generally disagrees. Believe it or not, even in this great country, there ARE laws restricitng speech.

This is not even adressing the subject in an international sense. This board isn't just American, even if that is where it's servers call home.
