Tortoise shell pick guard for an Albert Lee HH made by Chandler. After going to an all maple neck (thanks beej), I decided to go back to the white pick guard.
Inspired by Fred's generosity, I'd like to pay it forward: I have a Dimarzio single coil that I took out of a 90's silhouette. If anybody wants it, PM me or respond to this thread. Free!!
Got the pickup but unfortunately it was not an original Music Man pickup. It has vintage stagger poles, and AFAIK MM Silhouette guitars have always had flat poles. Maybe it will work for a cigar box or something.
I posted that the pickup klave guitars gave to me was not an original EBMM Silo single coil. He as responded that it indeed came out of a White Silhouette guitar that he owned and he had converted to 2x humbucker and he still had the original pickguard. Well what floors me is that this is the White Silo I sold to him in 2009! I am thinking EBMM didn't put anything but DiMarzio BSC flat pole piece height pickups into these 2000's Silos. And this pickup has vintage staggered pole pieces. So now I'm thinking that the person that sold me the guitar sold it with a replacement single coil. The wires are tiny black and white. And AFAIK Dimarzio uses red and black and they are larger guage.
So here is a picture of the guitar. Anyone can confirm that the Silos had Dimarzio single coils pickups with staggered height pole pieces?
I found pictures of two different 1997 Silhouettes with PAF Pro humbuckers and a flat (un staggered) singe coils so I'm pretty sure they should like that from then until now. And yes the single coils in my Silhouette Special are black and red wires. But I;m also pretty sure DiMarzio do use both black & red and black & white wires for single coils, depending on the model.
