Fret Dimensions

Hi everyone, I just joined.

I've been admiring the Cutlass RS. In the spec sheet, the frets are described as 'high profile, medium width'. Does anybody know the exact WxH dimensions for these frets? I emailed EB and I'm still waiting on an answer.

My Cutlass frets measure 0.094" wide by 0.040" high, which is closest to a 6105. BTW, Stainless Steel frets are amazing, so smooth!

FWIW, the frets on my Silhouette Special are 0.050" high but there I hardly notice the difference switching between them.

As luck would have it, I received a response from EB today too [additional info about neck carve & overall weight]:

The frets on the Cutlass RS are .047" in height and .095" in width.

The neck carve thickness is .825" at the first fret and .924" at the 12th fret. We are known for a smaller profile neck. The Cutlass RS has somewhat of a soft "V" shape in frets 1-4 then tapers into a flat "D" shape.

We only take weights on the first few produced. We do not kick out an instrument for being too light or too heavy and they vary due to wood density. The average of the first few came in at 7lbs & 7oz.

I hope this thread can be a resource for anybody who's curious about these details.

Thanks for sharing these specs—super helpful! That soft "V" to flat "D" neck carve sounds really comfortable. Great info for anyone eyeing the Cutlass RS.
