I have a music man axis and the fret wire is sticking out from the side of the neck and starting to cut up my hand, what can i use to shave the wire down without wrecking the neck?

provided that it is a used guitar (and no other problems withstanding), you can "gently" file the edges to make them smooth.

Many ways to do this. I made a cheap humidifier for my cases. Dampen a sponge. place it in a ziploc bag after you have cut some holes in the bag with scissors. Works well on the cheap. Every few weeks check the sponge and dampen it again.

My DD2 JP had some issues last year and I was able to tape off the neck and use a nail file to carefully file down the offending fret ends, but there are other ways to do it. But that was cheap and effective for me. Customer service is your best bet.
