Fretless Bongo Incoming!!

Here's another example of a fretless Bongo Hp. It's a couple of minutes from the Miles Davis tune So What. The pickup blend was approx 65% piezo, 35% humbucker. I left the guitar in to hear the Bongo in the context of the song.

If memory serves me correctly the eq on the bass was flat except for a slight boost of the high mids. It went into a Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 with the eq flat and the DI feeding a PT Mbox into Garageband.

The smalleq fretless arrived yesterday. The moment of the case opening was delightful as this bass is very attractive. Fiddled around a bit this morning after putting mt EB group 4 flats on her. The fretless mwah sound is quite pronounced. The pizeo is a nice compliment to the H pickup. Never has a P before. And the lines on the fretless let me play with a lot of confidence. So far I a loving the smalleq. I play bass at church in 2 weeks. May show up with her and not even tell anyone it's a fretless. Btw I played my stealth bongo at church last week. 2 services of 800 folks. The bongo with flats just sounded great. Compliments from the other team bass players. I practiced a lot as was in fluid groove mode having fun. Bongo baby!

As an aside I prefer a slightly zingy tone so I had the rounds on her. Had I known your preference before I shipped I would've slapped some EB flats on for you

That's what I did. My fretless 5-string had arrived earlier in the day and I took it with me that night. We play Classic Rock and I just played it all on fretless. Why not?
