Beautiful display of Fretless Bongos! Stirring up the G.A.S. pains.....
If anyone sees one popping up for sale in clean shape for fair $$$ drop me a headsup message.
I would need it to have lines....I am a newbie to the fretless thing. thanks :D

Nice work! I really need to get some more Mick Karn stuff. I'm primarily familiar with his playing with Kate Bush.

I'll be sure to post my fretless Bongo here when I get it back from being refinished. It should be pretty singular in its existence when it's done. :D

OK, I'm reviving this zombie thread . . .

Is it possible to get a Bongo with the small EQ and the piezo? Or the the piezo automatically get you the 4-band EQ?

Piezo comes with 4 band. Only non piezo single humbucker come with 3 band.

That's what I thought but when doing a search on this forum, I found someone had listed that they had a Bongo Hp (small EQ), so it confused me a little . . . just a little . . . really.

Wait a minute . . . it's listed in your signature . . . BONGO 4HH (Rolls Burgandy), 4Hp (Small EQ), 4H (Ice Blue), 5HSp (White), 4H (BFR Roasted)

The "Small EQ" refers to the knucklehead who was the original owner of that particular bass… smallequestrian.

The bass is a gold fretless Bongo 4Hp with a headstock signed by BP and it's a sweet one. Jack owned it for awhile, then I did before passing it along.

If you consider that all Bongos have four holes in the body for knobs, the 4-band makes perfect sense. Piezo basses need a blend knob, which leaves two holes for EQ.

Fred... "smalleq" refers to the owner only, not the number of bands of eq on the Bass. Since then we have always called a 4Hp Fretless bongo a Smalleq, despite having 4 bands of eq. JOSH
