Fretless Fever

One more fretless to add to the forum collective:
I got this one a few weeks ago. Thanks to Jack for tips on fixing the bow in the neck and to Brad for an original stock pickup!

Pretty pretty birdseye on the back of hte neck and headstock.

It's got two mystery holes near the pickup.


Sounds great and plays great too. Too bad I suck on fretless. This bass probably will not stay too long 'round here.

EBMM uses pao ferro these days for fretless boards. My pre-Ernie fretless is rosewood though.

That's a pretty bass. You should keep it. (Like I have any room to talk about keeping fretless basses, but still.)

EBMM uses pao ferro these days for fretless boards. My pre-Ernie fretless is rosewood though.

Thanks Mark, I wasn't sure when they stopped using rosewood though as that certainly looks like rosewood as opposed pao ferro. Either that or it is a nice dark piece of pao ferro. As you might have guessed I have been looking at a lot of fretless boards recently.

Yep, methinks the screw holes are from a bell cover. Maybe Will Lee owned the bass
I know a few players who'll insist on a bell cover on any bass...
