Fretless -- HH, H/S or Hp?

I've been thinking about getting a fretless and not sure which pickup config would be better (HH, H/S or Hp).

Any thoughts?

What would you get and why?

Discuss and decide. :D

I would get a Hp 5 after having played the famed smalleq bongo. Yep 5Hp bongo.

First - what ever config - it needs a 'p'... The 'p' has become a "must-have" for me and that is double-y sure for fretless.

The piezo adds a subtle edge and a bit of percussive thump to the tone.

You haven't mentioned which bass, but I like HSp for versatility - especially in a fretless. And in a Bongo fretless, the HSp is the top of the food chain! :)

I like my 30th Ann SR but I've tried a Sterling before and they are very nice too. With the Sterling, I would think that the Single H gives the parallel/series option that is lost when the other pickup is added (except the p). With the SR, there is no loss of options by having the HS or HH config.
