do those of you that have both 22 and 24 fretters find it difficult to switch back and forth between the two guitars?

i've never had a 24 fret guitar, but lately have been considering them because the body styles (w/ 2 buckers) i'm liking happen to be 24 fret necks....silos and jps.

nope , no problem here. If you got a JP i imagine the only thing that may be an issue at first (but youd probably get used to it pretty quickly) is the neck width, when you go back to the smaller neck of the silo spec you may fall off the edge of the fingerboard! you may end up missing those last two frets too. just depends on personal taste though i reckon. of course if you got a silo you wouldnt have that problem!

I don't really have any problems either - but you do have to pay more attention on the higher frets because the spacing is off a little.

I find myself feeling a bit limited on 22fret guitars, but I've played 24 fretters all my life. If you're going the other direction, you won't find any difficulty I imagine.

I never have any problem, though I prefer 22 fret guitars. For some reason 24-fret silhouettes just look and feel kind of weird to me... I prefer the 22-fret SS's because they look, balance, and feel just right.

FWIW the JP6 is the best 24-fret guitar I've ever played, bar none.

On the rare occasion that I play my 24, ,I do overreach occasionally and hit notes that are supposed to be on 21 and 22 on 23 and 24 out of habit because I've been playing 22 for 20-plus years. But the feel's not that different.

I play them interchangeably no problem. I probably play the 22 fret guitars 50% of the time, and the 24 fret the other 50%..... they are all Music Man so they all feel just right. ;)

As many have said it depends which way you're going. From 22-24 its no problem at all. From 24-22 is a bit different.

My first axe was an Ibanez RG7 w/ 24 frets, then to a Les Paul at 22. Felt restrictive, because I didn't have that complete octave anymore. Now that I'm back at 24 with the JP it feels great.

Plus access to those 20-22 frets on my Les Paul feel effortless now that I'm on the JP, where access to the 24th is comfortable.
