Hello everyone!

It`s time for refretting my Silhouette Special. Second time. First time it was done with Jescar nickel silver 45100 frets (.100" x .045"). Now i`m looking for stainless steel Jescar and thinking about 47095 (.095" x .047") or maybe 47104. Can you give me advice, please? Does someone have Silhouette Special with one of these fretwire profiles?

Best regards.

no experience in that area...but I agree, the stock fretwire on my silo spec tarnishes quickly and wears flat almost as fast. I'd love to get stainless steel put on mine.

Since stainless steel wears so slowly, I don't see any need to get bigger frets (bigger frets supposedly can make notes a little sharp because there's more distance to press the string down onto the fretboard...effectively, bending the string)

I definitely say go for the SS frets with a similar profile. They will last you for many many more years than nickel. And they may last forever if you don't use heavy heavy strings and have a heavy left handed grip. I'm not familiar with those sizes on my Silo Special, but I will definitely put SS on mine when the time comes.
