Hello everyone I am new to this bored. I was playing D'addario XL strings, but I just recently (yesterday) got a couple sets of Ernie Ball Coated Super Slinky's and they sounds amazing new. I don't know how long they will last (never used Ernie Ball before) but from what I've heard they should last quite a while.

Also I would like to say these strings have a certain feel that just feel good to play on my SG. One change of strings and it seems to just play better.

Thank you EB.

P.S. How are the regular Nickel Wound Super Slinky's? I have a pack of them that I bought a few days ago at a small shop to try them, just put the coated ones on first because they looked interesting, but do they sound/feel the same as the coated titanium reinforced or not?

thanks for any answers. I believe I have converted to EB strings.

Reynold,

A lot of people think that strings are just strings, well, as you discovered, that couldn't be farther from the truth!!

EB strings are a notch above all else, and they are just as important, if not more important to me, than the guitar. They are EXCELLENT!!! So, dynamic!!

They are one of my top 10 favorite things in the world (Bible is #1).

Now, if you think the strings are great, you need to compare that SG with an Axis -you'll never look back. Merry Christmas.

:)

Hey thanks for the reply TNT. Is an Axis a MM guitar? I'll look into them, I am big into Gibson's though and the SG has been the most comfortable guitar I have played. Now even more so due to the EB strings.

Hey Reynold,

Are you in for a BIG surprise!!!

Yeah, an Axis is a Musicman guitar, along with several other equally "primo" MM models.

If you like the quality of say a PRS, etc.. . , then you're going to just love the Musicman guitar. It's that and more - including a neck fretboard and back profile that is to "die" for!!

However, as I mentioned, once you play one though, you will NOT go back to the Gibson (trust me), so with that in mind are you courageous enough to accept that consequence???

After you play them let me know which one you are getting for Christmas!:)

Yeah,

Pretty much any Guitar Center, as well as on-line with DuBaldo's Music or Perfect Guitar (just to name a few).

Or you can check with Ernie Ball customer service and they can let you know for sure which ones in your area have them.

That's have the fun going and checkin' them out. Keep me posted on which ones you've looked at!!:)
