Hey guys, you can do this!
I quit almost a year ago (20 more days to go)
Nobody ever said it was easy, but it's do-able. I used the patch, worked for me.
I still get cravings, here and there, out of the blue, but they last a few minutes...
Dont know about this crack thing, though... :D

If I may... I got a lot of help from this website: Quit Smoking All Together with QuitNet.com - Stop Smoking Help and Cessation Support
a forum with thousands of quitters worldwide, helping each other (costs nothing).
And for the good news, I have saved enough money in a year, to buy 2 more basses ;)

Not when he's already got open sores in his mouth already and polishes off a whole can in about 3 dips. *barf*

You should try buying him a can of Mint Snuff(made from mint leaves instead of tobacco) Beth.I think they sell it at Wally World. Could help to ween him of the real stuff and you don't need a spit cup with it........Most of the guys I work with dip and/or smoke so there are spit cups lying around everywhere.Fortunately I left dipping behind years ago and now only enjoy the occasional cigar...

Ah, to quit smoking! Something I too plan on doing soon. It's gonna be hard though! Definately not looking forward to that one.
Sometimes I feel a bit like this guy: "collect the whole set"

I've gone a while without smoking, so I too have seen my inner crack whore . What a bitch....scared the hell out of me. It's gonna take all of my willpower...

I get the idea that Rex is busy.

My husband quit early in our relationship (not because of pressure on my part). He'd smoked for over 30 years. He used the patch. He had some bad stuff going on in his life and decided to turn the energy around to something positive. So he quit smoking. I don't exactly understand how he did that. But he hasn't smoked since.

I'll hand it to him -- when he really decides to stop a bad habit he stops it. Hope he never sees me that way!

So anyway, Rex, what's your gig?

Wow. The mother of all threadjacks. :) I have weened myself down to a can a month, and hopefully will be done with tobacco soon.

No gig, actually. I travel 4+ months a year, and usually bring a guitar or a bass or two so I have something to do in the hotel (besides look at Chuck semi-naked).
