I have a 4string StingRay and use the Regular Slinky EB strings. I love the sound, but i play out every weekend and i would say every other weekend, i break my E-String. Is there something i can do?

Could it be an imperfection in the bridge? I tried to sandpaper it, but what else can i do....or did i just make it worse?

You may have a bur in the saddle...sandpapering usually helps...maybe take it to a tech if it is still doing it....That's my opinion.

i break my e-string ever couple of months too. i dunno why i break the e-string, it seems more logical to have a thinner string break. can someone explain this?

but i play pretty hard. o yeah, has anyone tried out rotosound and dr string? i would really like a review before i blow 40 buck to try them both.

My theory on this scientific phenomenon is that the E string is heavier, and once you get it moving vigorously it generates more momentum than a smaller string, so the accumulated metal fatigue at the point where the string crosses the saddle is proportionately greater.

i would have to disagree
they would be gemini
because the gemini is the tempremental attention getting person or string in this case
and its just the e string that is a gemini

Darn strings. They told me themselves they were Capricorns. Psh. It's the E string, I guess. He's gone off and turned the rest into nasty punks. Gemini they are, then.
