well, I finally find an amp that I want to buy. Something I've owned before and one of the only pieces of gear i really regret getting rid of. A VHT Pittbull classic combo. I saw it on ebay and when I looked at the location it only added to my excitement. Only an hour and a half drive from me. I contacted the seller and made him an offer and stated he wouldnt have to worry about ebay/paypal fees and shipping and he was on board. The thing was mint, from the pics and video he sent me it looked newer than some of the "new" amps i've seen at stores. Well, of course I open my mouth and tell him my woes of selling mine.... He sends me an email today saying he decided to keep it:( I wanted that thing so bad I could taste it...... Back on the hunt. At this point I've got so much money saved up for gear I can really get anything I want. As most gear heads know, this is the point where you have no idea what you want(even if you were already dead set on something)

I feel your pain dude. I did the same thing with my purple EVH. It still haunts me! Amp wise why not check out what's new at the amp fest on at the moment (I think). Saw phill X going on about it on one of his recent you tube clips. Something may tickle your fancy. As things stand I still love my Engl and would upgrade to a Morse signature if I could afford one.

Bummer. Sometimes those things slip out and mess up a deal. I know some folks who have had similar experiences selling gear: when the buyer heard what the seller was looking to buy, he lost interest in the item for sale.

I think I'm going to try to avoid small talk when doing such deals. :)

Yeah, total bummer. I've talked a seller out of a deal as well before ... +1 for watching the small talk ;)

I'm wondering if the sub-conscious mind has something to do with this "sabotage." :D

Everyone is going to have a unique amp recommendation. I'll throw the Mark V in as mine. Of course, if you're not into the Mesa sound, then nevermind.

Awesome Amps - in a class by themselves!!!

I still have a brand new, in the box VHT Pittbull CL/100 head with a Pittbull 4x12 slant cabinet!!! I figured I'd better hang on to it since it is before Fryette sold the name rights.

There are so many good amp manufacturers out there. You'll definitely find something that you love. Shopping and experimenting, and trying new things.... that's half the fun IMO! Cheer up!

Yay! just happened to be looking through guitar centers site and found a 91 vht pittbull (classic) serial number 3. I believe that makes it one of the proto heads if I'm not mistaken. Well, it's on it's way, pictures when it gets here.
