Fogman and Simon - I'm in San Diego. Just updated my profile to reflect it.

Raz, that one on the 'Bay was just a regular Silo, plus I'm guessing it didn't have the cool Birdseye or locking tuners that this one has, since he didn't mention it in the listing. Someone still got a great buy, though.

Yep, it does have the Birdseye and locking tuners. I sold it cheap because I need loot asap. It is a beautiful Axe and I'm going to miss it. Oh Well...

I just posted pictures of the case, trem bar and key to the case, then a number of very close-up shots of the blems. Some of them can be seen, some are very almost impossible to see. I used a pen tip to provide a size reference. These were all difficult to photo, but luckily the sun was out today. Under ordinary lighting, you'd be hard pressed to see these with a very close inspection.

The new pics start with the pics of the case.

Hope this helps.

Scott,

Wow! You take really good photographs.
Thanks for the detailed views of the blems.. the pen for scale (and pointing) was a great idea.

Thanks, Steve. A quality digital cam sure makes it easy. I don't know how business was done back in the prehistoric days of the 90's. I'm doing my best to show as much as possible what the buyer can expect so that there are no surprises.

I forgot to take a pic of the frets, but will do so this afternoon. I'd do it now, but I have to run off to a French lesson.

What are you pointing to with those pics of the back of the guitar? I don't see squat. cept for a shine...man I don't think you should fret over blemishes that are not only impossible to see via the naked eye, but exist on the back of the guitar...but that's just me!

I noticed it has a battery compartment like my JP w/ piezo, do Silo's have Piezos too? Or is this for active pups?
This battery is for the Ernie Ball (Music Man) patented Silient Circuit system used to reduce the hum from the single coil pups...all that from memory...somehow 60Hz came to mind, but I wasn't sure :D

A potential buyer asked if the Silent Circuit is on all the time or switched on only when the single coils are selected. I have no idea....anybody?

Jon answered this in another thread, but while the reader's eye is here, we might as well give 'em the answer.

The Silent Circuit is only active when single coils are in use. It kicks in to 'buck' the 'hum' of those SC's, and isn't needed if they aren't being used.

Edit:

It seems that the Silent Circuit is only on when the neck pickup alone is selected, at least for an H-S-S Silhouette Special.

I wish.
I'm not comfortable with buying used via internet or mail.
I need to physically see it and play it.
I will be buying new when I do.

Hi,

sent you a separate email as I didnt get your email sent from the forums email facility.

Very interested in the Silo but need to understand how we would do the shipping/cash and what the on-costs would be for me. Looks a goo ddeal at moment for me compared to the only Uk silo special I can find on ebay in UK.

Hopefully "speak" soon.

Hi Pete,

There are a variety of ways in which we could proceed. If you're signed up with PayPal, that would be the easiest way to take care of payment. If not, then either a wire or an international money would be next best. As far as shipping goes, I sent you an email with an estimate of $115 via USPS. I don't know if this includes tracking or not. I would have to box it up and swing by the post office to provide an exact amount. UPS and FedEx are alternatives, but they would likely run $200+. I believe shipping would probably run 7-10 days, regardless of which option is chosen. With the pound as strong as it is vs. the USD, I imagine things look pretty cheap over here :)

I understand you don't know me from Adam, nor do I know you, so a certain amount of trust would be required from both of us. I'm open to using a third party to facilite or act as an in-between. If you can find someone here in San Diego willing to take a look, they're more than welcome to come inspect it in person. The reason for the sale is my impending move to Nantes, France.

BTW, I've got 225+ positives on eBay and references I could provide from The Gear Page and WeberVST forums.

Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]
