Actually, I hope I'm not giving him that hard of a time. The "personaly think" comment just struck me as an odd combination of words since thinking is usually personal (atleast for some of us ;) )

I'll give it to ricplayr (spell check?)...he's pretty thick-skinned!

I find a good many of these posts from the last couple of days funny-as-sh*t...'personaly'! :D

Okay, back to the original content of this thread...

...Ben (and Jack's) 'old' White Stingray is now here in my grubby hands (actually, I did wash them), and it is schaweet!

Will change out the strings for my Super's this evening, lower the action to taste, and thump this bassturd NYE...with a short review to follow.

Many thanks from this end, Ben! A helluva trade!

I love it when things work out this way - both guys are happy, and have the bass that they wanted! Nice work boys!

The trade happened so fast and smoothly that my head is still spinning!

In a good way! :D

I personaly think "Bongos" are bananas....one of the ugleist basses I have ever seen. I have owned stingrays and am currently negotiating a deal right now for a honey burst Ray.

I Must say I'm also a stingray guy and never would have tried a Bongo but Sterling convinced me too try one and I did and it blew me away,

I've had not so hot looking girlfriends with great personalities and Model type with ZERO personality, so even though the Bongo may not be the shape of my dreams, once it's straped on and plugged in you forget everything cause it kicks Assssss. DJ

No sure if your post was for me or RicP, but thanks anyway! I'm playing with Van and Michael @ Uncle Roy's that night.

It's gonna be a jam night, so bring your bass.

I think my Bongo is grotesque. And it's bright orange, so I can't hide it. It looks like a mollusk in the process of eating a guitar neck.

I bought it local. I could see it and hear it for real before buying it. I could see it right there on the wall and in my hands how ugly it is. When I plugged it in I could *hear* it very plainly, but I just couldn't *see* it very clearly anymore. In the 4 months I've had it, it has not [praise allah] gotten uglier and uglier, but it has taken to sounding better and better.

In a few hours I'll go plug in and we'll play a string of 3 nights through to new year's eve. Lots of people will tell us how great we sound. A few will ask, "What's that 'thing' you play? It sounds great." No one will say "What an ugly ax, can't you hide it while I'm eating?"

Agreed. And that is why **THEY** get in such a twist if **THEY** suspect **THE MASSES** might indulge in any thinking.

Hell I just bought both and think they're both beautiful. I guess I'm sick but sometimes at night I'll take a liquor drink and stare at them on the stand. Where's Lorraine Bracco???

That was for higher1, being that he's local. Not that you aren't invited, but being all the way up in Sac...well. :D

And yes, Uncle Roy's in Hayward.

Cool! As far as the Ric, no problem...unless it's an EBF sponsored event. ;) :D
