Full Circle...

So as a relatively new bassist (played bass in bands over the years but mostly a guitarist) - I initially got a great deal on a Stingray on clearance at GC - but as many musicians do - I got trade happy, I sold it, bought a Am Series Jazz and then returned that - so now I'm without a bass (my wife thinks I'm crazy).

So I went to GC yesterday and pulled out every type bass over $250 that they had Fender, Warwick, MM, etc... and I have to say the MM in general and Stingrays in particular sounded and played the best. They were also the most consistent in quality. I think I'm going to end up with the HH model (my initial Stingray was the original model). Of course this "epiphany" came at a cost as I doubt I'll be able to get the same deal I got on the first Stingray but I guess it was worth it.

hahah way to go... ya fenders are pretty cheap man... ever rub your hand up and down the neck frets are damn sharp.... really twangy things they are too... eb is just amazing great tone and you can get anytone even that twangy but with more over and undertones..... it puts a smile on my face ... way to go with the SR and not the evil brother bongo psh lmao <<< bovine ignore that

For the life of me, Why would you guys waste your money & time on other basses.

As my Wife once said, A woman needs more then one pair of shoes. That I so agree with.

I believe A Man can never have enough Basses, Music Man basses. Just walk into your Studio,as she walks in her closet and as the Oak doors open and there ya have it, a hundred Music Man basses on stands.

I posted this in a thread a few months back but I think it fits this situation perfectly........
When I got my first "nice" bass, a Fender Amer. Deluxe Jazz, I thought I had reached the ultimate in tone, playability, looks, etc....... My bubble was burst when a Fender Mexican Deluxe Jazz that I bought used for $200 blew my American Fender out of the water. At that point I knew somewhere along the line, something went wrong. In the three months that followed I traded my Amer. Deluxe Jazz for a 5-String Amer. Standard Jazz, which I then traded for my beloved Black/Black Maple Stingray 5 which is as far as i'm concerned still the best bass in the world.My quest was over and 4 and half years later i'm still happy.Other gear may come and go but my first Musicman isn't going anywhere.Moral of the story, BUY THE STINGRAY
