I'm sure most of us have a good story on the one EBMM guitar/bass that they foolishly let go only to regret it later. Let's hear the story & details!

I'll start. I snagged up this 2000 Emerald Green Axis from Ebay back when I was in college in 2003. Some of you probably remember back then that you could scoop up used Axis guitars for about $900-1200 USD all day long (seem like they were only about ~$1600 new back then?). Somehow I got this one for $650!! Seems like I recall the eBay listing description missing a few keywords, so maybe it didn't have as many folks watching it. It came with a really crappy plastic aftermarket case but a few weeks later I found a like new G&G on eBay for $50! Lightning struck twice I guess.

Sadly, I sold it about 5 years later when I was looking to diversify my guitar lineup since I had several humbucker guitars at the time. Was married at the time (grrrr) with a toddler so my toy money wasn't as abundant back then. I later found out that they only made 100 of these in the Emerald Green in 2000. I didn't even make a lot of money off it when I resold it...maybe $150?

Well no longer have pictures but my DD 1 Luke, was soooo nice, piezo, crazy ass Birdseye neck.

Sold it to help someone I no longer even speak too, shame. Also wish I would have kept one of my 20th anni Silos

Should say making up for it lately with my current collection :)

My one was a 2004 limited run Envy Green Silhouette Special that was being sold by our old forum member mbgreene (may he rest in peace). It was a metallic green, blue abalone pickguard, black painted headstock with gold lettering. I scratched and scraped and begged and pleaded with friends to help me out getting the cash together and I made my offer. I was on a set break from a gig, sitting outside the venue, my girlfriend was at home checking my forum PMs. She rang and told me that he messaged and said I was 20 minutes too late with my offer and he had agreed a sale to another forum member. I was GUTTED!

I can't find a photo but this is a stingray bass from the same run.

Any EBMM I've let go, I've regretted. The one I miss most is up for sale right now on Ebay. The only 2008 Sequoia Gold 7 string I've ever seen.

I'm tempted to grab it back, but I'm always hopeful there are some cool things in the pipeline from EBMM that'll help dull that ache.

I really miss my first one I had , it was a 2008 Y2D in purple sunset I stupidly sold. Sad thing its for sale on reverb but the guy did a bit of mods to it and is selling it for 2000 more then he bought it from me. The other one is my true gold Luke I have no idea why I sold that one. I had a reflex but don't regret selling that at all. I thought maybe there was something better out there I guess. There wasn't!!!! The PRS I had were nice guitars but never bonded with them really. After all my buying and selling of guitars I came right back around to Ebmm , should have just stayed there.

There were two LEs in 2004 but the had no logo or inlays to mark them out. 2005's buttercream was the first "real" LE from that point of view. Both 2004 LEs had black headstock with gold lettering, one was Envy Green and the other was Radiance Red. Radiance red eventually became a standard color (thanks to Lukather, I think, at the time he had a back sparkle no 1 and radiance red from the 2004 run became his no 2). The green never made it past that year (except for a gold hardware and matching headstock version Luke had around the time of the Falling in Between album, which was a Japan-only limited run of Lukes, my brain tells me).

I've bought and sold plenty of my own EBMM guitars over the years, the ones that I keep are the best of the best, or very special. My only regret is that I didn't order a few more of the original Dargie Delight guitars on the last day of the order window. It would be nice to still have a few fresh ones in the vault!

I definitely remember Buttercream; those were killer! And I definitely remember the Radiance Red that Lukather had around that time. I always wondered why that one of his had a black headstock. I just assumed he had swapped some necks around; didn't realize that it was a LE!

It's also one that he had a Fernandes Sustainer installed into:

I have had a decent handful of great EBMM guitars come and go for various reasons. The one I regret selling most was a late 90's Silhouette Special (my second MM) in Candy Apple Red with maple board. It was in far FROM stellar condition but played and sounded great. I sold it to help fund another EBMM purchase. A few years later it was offered back to me and I had to pass because timing wasn't great. So I regret it twice. I was one of those great sounding playing guitars you didn't have to worry about and I really miss that one
