I wouldn't know about that, all I know is they take good care of me when I go in.
We will see what I end up doing. There will be pictures when it happens.

if you are selling it for a lot because its a collectors item it wouldnt make a lot of sense (just my opinion) to refinish it...if you are viewing it as a collectors item.

If its just a guitar you love
then it makes a lot of sense.

That sounds like an awesome color

Erin - here is your opportunity to get rich. Just invent an interchangeable external shell for Musicman basses that can come in many different colours. One bass - many different coloured shells.... Including fuschia burst

Erin, I'd say go for the refinish. You'll regret losing the roasted neck on that beauty!

I know you said you haven't played it much, but you should play it a bit to see why I love the ebmm roasted necks so much.

The other option would be to see if you could trade the body only, but you'd end up having to refinish it anyway, so financially, you wouldn't be gaining anything. Someone would get a subtly sparkled black, I guess.

I'd try some pickguard options before going the refin route. I'm not a big fan of black either, but the black sugar body works with pretty much anything. Here's what I did with mine:

That said, it's your bass, do what you want with it.

I just posted the final for sale bump at talkbass. $1550 shipped lower 48. I also shot Marty bell an email to get an estimate on a refinish. I'm playing her right now, and wondering if I should do anything.. Somebody may ask me to play at their wedding one day. It's just soooo black.. Even with the neon strings. No shows this weekend, but if it's still here I think I'll gig with it next Friday. Maybe I'll change my mind.

That's a beautiful bass and I think fuchsia burst will be a nice color! I say go for it! :D

If you decide to do a refin, I'd like to know what he charges. (just out of curiosity)

Why would you buy a black bass to begin with if you don't like black, just curious.
