DJ, do you have a tobaccoburst/rosewood SR5 you'd like to sell?
I figured I'd ask since you have more EB's that Guitar Center -
and they're all out.

Yeah Sorry On the 5 String Music Man, I don't have any 5's at all.

Yes Mods can be reversed, but I can tell you one thing, with out a few modifications to the preamp that bass will not sound good sound. That's not my opion thats reality. Second Ernie Ball does not and will not sell a you a Pickup

So your buying a pretty bass, l'll vouch for that, but great luck on that tone.
No one seems to have inquired whether that ax has a Basslines pre-amp. My SR4 has a complete Basslines system, PU and innards, and [shield up and activated, captain] I love it that way. OTOH, my Sabre has its original preamp with a Basslines PU at the neck [made for a SR at the bridge] and it's one howlingly weird sounding bass. But then, I have no other Sabres to compare it to, and I've heard the MM Sabre voice described as "unique". And soloing the original bridge PU still in the Sabre, the ax is likewise weird. So, I don't think the Basslines PU is responsible for the odd voice.

And I do agree with you, The Sterling Preamp Is not a stock Music Man 3 band pre amp, you could not install that preamp in a stingray and it sound good, Won't really work, You'd have to change some resistors in order for it to be ok.

So, ignoring the skinny neck, you're saying a Sabre is really more like a Ray, not like a Sterling?
