If this has been discussed already, please accept my apology. I was doing some cipherin and with the Sterling 5 to hit the scene in the near future and the SR5 20th having alinico pickups got me thinking. Are the SR5's eventually going alnico for standard basses in the future? Such that the SR5 will be more like the SR4 and then the Sterling and Sterling 5 be similar with ceramic sort of creating paralell bloodlines so to speak. Any comments from anyone "in the know" would be appreciated. ;)

I think itd be cool for future SR5s to have alnico magnets. Albeit, confusing when it comes to people buying used SR5s and knowing what they are getting, if they are not familiar with the company.

I for one would love to have a production SR5 with an alnico. I think there'd be an enormous market for them! Well, relatively enormous. :)

Sorry about the wind BP. I was just thinkin (maybe I shouldn't cause it really hurts sometimes). Just trying to evaluate next purchase possibilities further down the road (I know papa needs shoes, believe me). NAMM should be interesting this time around. Although it may not appear by then, this BFR stuff intrigues me the most;)
