Give Satch the night off ;)

Yeah,

At the recent G3 (Satch, Vai, Petrucci) JS got shown up.
Was OK in his set, but was not so good when jamming with the other 2.

Vai owned the show hands down.
JP was very good, but lacks the showmanship and charisma of Vai.

JP's gotta stop shredding the low strings live.
(Unless he's in venue with SUPERB acoustics AND got the levels PERFECT)
Creates a blurred deep droning mess.

who on earth would anyone want to see E*H at a G3? whats he gonna play, instrumental versions of VH songs? or just sit there and noodle like those Fender vids.......

i probably should delete this post

You are right on all accounts.

I'd love to see a Luke, Steve Morse & Michael Landau G3, i personally think the whole Val, Satch <insert pointless shredder here> thing is getting tired, they are great players, but boring as hell.

Scott.

BTW. If you didn't know Larry Carlton and Robben Ford at the Corner Hotel Tuesday 3rd April. It's like the G2 of blues. It's gonna be fantastic.

As long as they don't invite Malmsteen for a second round, I'll go.

I can't wait to see them (as long as they're in the Northeast USA)...not to be a downer, but I just hope they play some different G3 Jams than usual. I've seen the same ones for years!! Still, I love all of them and can't wait to see them if they come here!
Heck, Robelinda, maybe these 3 should just G3 Jam a Van Halen tune? ;)

keaggy, ty tabor, luke, zakk just a few i would love to see in a g3. I know some r different styles like zakk especially but da dude is an insane musician......as are the others =D. The one good thing about living in nyc is sure we deal with crime, pollution, and traffic but we always get the great shows =D lol.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Steve Hackett as a G3, and I agree with the Ty Tabor! He's way better than he even gives himself credit for!

Ty is one of my heroes. I love that dude. He is just a solid player. Have any of you heard Wayne Krantz? Your Basic Live is such a cool album.
