Ok so i just finished watching my G3 dvd with joe satriani and steve vai .. and that sloppy player Yngwie .. I really do not like his sloppy playing .. but anyway ..
I have a really great 7.1 surround sound system, So i decided to play this in surround sound mode .. and to my ears, it wasn't recorded very well .. while joe's and steve's guitar's sounded in your face, everything else sounded like the amps were put in a bathroom ... then the mic was in the center of the room .. Well needless to say it sounded way better just on PCM stereo ..

I was thinking .. i would love to see steve , john, and maybe 1 or 2 more artists put on a show like G3 .. Call it the ernie ball tour ... LoL

They already do!

In fact, I was fortunate enough to play at a couple of them with some of the other guys here.

They're called the EBMM Bash!!

being a promoter and running a tour is a very risky business these days (always has been). Would love to see it personally. Do you have a rich uncle? :p

Look we have had representation on G3. Steve Vai is a dear friend nad endorsee or our strings.

Please try to not bash other players here...It's just one of the rules. Respect.

Im sorry, Im not bashing other players .All i said was yngwie was sloppy .. I didnt say anything else .. i thought the recorded sound for the surround sound was recorded sloppy as well .. how is that bashing other players? . And IMO .. i think yngwie is a sloppy guitar player Live .. not in the studio cause you can re record everything ... but he is very sloppy ... However he has had tremendous success ..
But i said nothing to the effect of saying he is a bad player i said sloppy .. two totally different meanings ..

It's funny but sometimes people do not associate the client connection that EB has with "non-EB instrument" artists!!

If these "other" guitar players use EB Strings, too me they are as much an EB player as the instrument artists!! These are some serious players and they take their strings as serious.

At least that is the way that I've "always" personally felt!:)

Didn't JP do one of the G3's?

Glenn |B)

Excluding Satriani and Vai, JP has played on more G3's than any of the other guitarists. About 5 or 6 times.

Plus, although not playing as featured guitarists on the G3 tours, Lukather, Morse and Johnny Hiland have been special guests on select G3 shows.

I have never been a big Yngwie fan, as I cannot listen to more than two songs in a row on a CD. But I saw the G3 show with him at the Beacon in NY, sat 4th row center and from the first note of his set my jaw was on the floor. To be honest it was his night and he stole the show. Sloppy? The guy twirled his guitar around his neck about 7 times and went right back into the arpeggio he started without missing a beat. I still do not buy his music but would pay to see him play any day of the week.

Vai was not going out like that, and gave him all he could handle and Joe the ultimate pro just did his thing and also brought Petrucci out to do the Summer Song with him, as I remember John had just cut his hair off.lol Without a doubt the greatest guitar fest I have ever seen, but Yngwie was a beast and I do not know where you are coming up with sloppy.
