Hi guys.
I want to share my experience with you. (sorry that it is too long)

I was on G3 gig in Prague yesterday. Steve Morse Band concert was personally for me the highlight of whole evening. Steve shows how versatile player he is. I saw him four times with Deep Purple when they play in Czech Republic. But yesterday was a first time when Steve and his band stops in our country and he opens fully his musical treasury.

He plays a lot from his last CD started with bombastic piece Name Dropping, also John Deere Letter, Here and Now and Then... And I had a goose bumps everywhere when he played Highland Wedding.

Also chance to see Dave LaRue live was great - Steve's duels with Dave were breathtaking.

Sadly that Van Romaine cannot be there. But the guy that plays drums plays perfect too.

I heard from the others that Steve's concert wasn't so perfect as a Steve Vai's. Yes Steve Morse had some troubles in Stressfest, but who cares. Me not. Everyone makes sometimes mistakes. And this for me shows only the fact that we are only humans. Steve plays naturally and this makes his music warm and exciting.

And especially during final jam Steve Morse shows how great player he is, how he listen to the others and how he expands musical ideas from the others players. It was obvious in the moment when Al Di Meola (yes you read it right) join them in Keep on Rockin' and Steve continues in ideas from Al, while Steve Vai and Joe Satriani plays different stuff. I know they are keeping their face. But for me it was more interesting to see/hear how Steve Morse share ideas with Al Di Meola. And it could be more interesting if all four players will plays this way.

Just to be correct. I like music from Steve Vai and also from Joe Satriani. Their concerts were good too.
But for me - Steve Morse was highlight of the whole G3 gig. (maybe G4 finaly) :)

I planned to be there, but finally I couldn't. Now I regret even more. It must have been a great concert.

That must of been absolutely amazing! I wish I could see a another G3 here in NY. I saw them with Petrucci and it was a blast. However Morse is really something else. I totally agree with you the way he plays and builds on the ideas in his improv. And with DiMeola, that must of been so cool!
