WOW.

JP Certainly stole the show with his BFRs.... the black burst was definately amazing! I don't think I've ever seen a better looking guitar on stage.

Was an awesome show... I'll try and put up pictures later, they might suck since I took pictures with my 2MP camera phone but there's hoping none the less.

I thought I was going to a guitar show... but man, I got to see JP's gun show

Amazing show, no rubber chicken... but at the end of the night, I was tempted to order a BFR...

My son and his buddies saw the show and were quite impressed.
They met Satch and Gilbert afterward and he signed their stuff. Unfortunately, JP strolled right by and went to the tour bus, so......no JP sigs...oh well.
He went with four buddies and the consensus seemed to be that Satch stole the show.
Now I kinda wish I had seen it too

I was there and got to do the meet and greet before the show!

Got there for 5 o'clock, like it said to do in the email. Waited around in the Box Office, (where it said to meet the coordinator), and chatted with the 12 other people doing the meet and greet. We were getting pissed when the clock reached 5:45 and still no sign of the dude, but then, out of nowhere, somebody from the venue says "He's been waiting at the side stage door." Now, at this point, everyone's like, "WTF?" and we go to meet him. Finally.

He lets us in, collects our waivers and then leads us down to the bar area of Massey Hall, where we all take our seats and receive our Platinum Passes and signed 8x10s. Then, he goes to get John. Everybody just kinda sits there, quiet, shuffling with the items they brought to get autographed.

Alas, he brings John out, who is being trailed by his kids (apparently, this is their first G3). Everyone applauds and John says "I haven't even done anything, yet!" which incurs laughter. We got the signings and pictures out of the way first, which was totally sweet. John is indeed a very humble gentleman and when I shook his hand, I pretty much felt as if I was greeting an old friend. No ego, at all! :)

Then, we did a round of questions and the only thing that bothered me was some guy, who had stated earlier that he had met JP like 5 times, asked all the questions, and they were all like "What amp did you use for this album, that album, what amp do you use to practice at home?" etc. Only a few other people got questions in, like "Is there a chance of coming to Australia, this tour?" to which "Very likely" was the answer and then the usual "Second Solo album?" or "Rock Discipline 2?" to which John said that those were the most frequently asked questions. I thought the best question dealt with JP jamming with Jordan Rudess and he stated that he'd come up with a lick and JR would write it down, notewise because of his perfect pitch, and come up with harmonies instantly and John jokingly said "I hate you, Jordan!"

Then, we were allowed to check out the stage, and it was really cool. JP's guitar rig was nice and shiny (expensive :D ) The BFRs were tucked away in a corner. In fact, there were only 2 sixers. I assume JP had the other two to warm up on. Dave LaRue's MG Bongo was there, and it looked so huge compared to the sleekness of JP's guitars. ;) . JP's pedalboard, while smaller than the Skydstrup one he had on Live at Budokan, it was still quite large. Axess Electronics FX-1, I think.

The show itself, what can I say. Paul Gilbert is ridiculous and I was blown away by his "rythym" guitarist, who was amazingly talented as well. I thought his set was a bit too loud, though, seeing as I could only really hear the highest notes and the bass drum kicks. The rest was just noise. I loved his set, though. Totally awesome.

JP's set. Now, it might be my biased opinion, but I thought Petrucci took the house down when he started on Jaws of Life. Everyone went nuts and his playing and tone were impeccable. Highlight for me was Lost Without You and Portnoy being, well, Portnoy ;) .

Joe Satriani's set was awesome, I thought I'd be bored, but I was rather elated to find myself digging his song choices. I must go out and buy a copy of "Surfing With the Alien" now, and I absolutely adored Flying in a Blue Dream.

The jam I thought, was the "Weakest" part. Weak, being a relative term. The Jimi Hendrix Jam was sweet, but the other two songs they used, which I can't recall, cause, (to be honest, I didn't know them)

Overall, the show was amazing. It finished at 11:50.

BTW. I met James LaBrie, too. He was sitting a few rows down and I shook his hand and he asked how I was, I said "Great" and told him to enjoy the show. He looks really cool with the new beard/mustache. \m/

It was Foxey Lady, Purple Haze, Goin Down, and Jumpin Jack Flash!

BFR's were great, happy I ordered one.

Paul Gilbert was incredible, knowing his album made me enjoy his set even more.
JP was incredible, and I loved it.
Satch was great.

Met Satch and PG after the show, got pictures with Paul and had them both sign the ticket. Very Cool.

Haha Brent!

Remember I ordered the LE2007 JP? I need to pay for that one first :)

Hey if you still have a BFR after I pay off this one, I'll definately be in the market for it!

Sorry guys, the pictures blow. Turns out my camera's 2MP phone really sucks. :(

I recorded the whole show with my friend's mp3 player, but it's ridiculously distorted. :( You can't really discern anything. You can, however, hear an entertaining 15 minute conversation my friend and I had before the show. :p
