Game Changer or PDN ?

You can only get one bass. A Game Changer or a PDN Bongo. Which one would you choose? I am really gas'ing for a Game Changer because it is so awesome but I also love the Roasted Necks and realize I can only get another one if I go with PDN that is only available to order this month.

That's a tough call. Looking at your current stable and if you can only add one I might be inclined to say the GC. If your PDN deposit is refundable or useable for a GC then I think that would be the ticket. If no refund it would be hard to justify losing that money if you can add the GC a little later.

Jay... I would go PDN. I think the GC will be available long after the PDN order window closes. That being said is there anything you are seriously gassing for other than a GC? If not that may be the answer to your question. JOSH

I would personally go with the PDN. I agree with Josh, that the Game Changer will be available for awhile. Both great bass, cannot go wrong with either one. Good luck!

With the PDN, I love it and have ordered a Bongo but I am curious as to if or what will be released for a 10th Anniversary Bongo. With the PDN, the thing I like about it is the Roasted Neck. I love the Roasted Neck on my 4H Bongo and wish that was a full time option. I guess my reason for maybe re-thinking the PDN is because I already have 3 Bongo's. I still want one more in a HHp configuration, which is what I ordered on the PDN but that Game Changer has really grabbed me. I guess I will have up until Monday to decide what to do.

Hard to say. Based on the basses you already have, adding the Game Changer will really give you something new (you have no Reflex, plus the Game Changing). I guess the way I look at it is the Game Changers actually gives you some really new cool features where as the PDN is just pretty.

Though on the flip side, the argument that the PDN's are a limited edition thing is valid (I'm sure this is exactly your thought).

Here's how I think about it:

You've already got the DDII Bongo 4HH - which is a cool and rare bass. How badly do you need the piezo? If you really must have the piezo then I would get the PDN Bongo but consider selling the DDII, and maybe your Black Stingray (since you also already have your Breast Cancer Awareness SR and the Black one is kind of redundant in that sense) and buying a GC with the proceeds.

I don't know...it depends how attached you are to the DDII and your Black SR. Personally, I wouldn't hang onto multiple versions of essentially the same instrument unless I was playing live a lot and needed them for backup. Collecting instruments can be kind of a slippery slope and if money is tight or limited then tough choices have to be made.

The PDN Bongo is a limited edition bass so it gets extra points I suppose - but so is your DDII. Only you can decide whether you really need both an HH and an HHp. The GC is rare at this point but not limited which means you can get one later when you have the funds. But, as others have said, the GC will give you something really different than what you have now.

Don't anyone take offense to this, but the GC is a brand new technology/instrument kinda thing. Now I know BP and crew have certainly worked out the bugs/kinks for a year since it was first announced, but inevitably the first few of anything might still have some hiccups in it. As much as I love the latest "thing" I am rarely a first generation buyer. I like letting something new settle a bit before jumping in. That's just me. The GC will be around for a while, you'll have plenty of more time to GAS for one.

I am inclined to say that I would go with a GC in your situation. But from my point of view that makes since because I try to cover a lot of bases with my basses, like the others have pointed out, you have 90% of what the PDN brings to the table besides it's limited edition status, whatever that may be to you. The GC is a whole 'notha flava and brings a gang of different TOANZ.
I mean my main bass is a limited edition. It's a 25th HSS. My next bass (maybe next year) is going to be a Bongo. Like I said, either way, you win.

If you get the PDN Bongo, you can still get the GC later on.
The reverse will not work... (except you find a used one)

Well, the PDN has already been ordered and I can't cancel it. I'm also not going to screw the guys over at Bass Central because they have taken excellent care of me but I may be able to get both basses since the PDN won't even be here until I think August or September.

With the EBMM basses that I already own, I doubt I will ever sell them. Each bass is so different and I have bonded with ever MM bass that I have. I should find out this week if I will be able to add a Game Changer or not to the arsenal. The way it looks, it is 90% right now. If it happens, I will let everyone know! BP and Co. have done a wonderful job on that thing.

Good choice! There is a GC with your name on it and you will have it one way or the other in the near future.
