Can someone shed some light on the game changer? during the last namm some reflex where equipped with it? And some basses as far as I remember.

- Did someone tested it?
- Any chance for us knuckelhead to be beta tester for it? :D (I have a mac and an Iphone :p)
- Will it be launched for January Namm?
- On which model?
- why it will not be possible to retrofit our current instruments? technical issue or just a marketing choice?

well since this thing was announced I'm really eager to try it and if possible and without revealing any secret, I'd like to hear more about it

as far as I understand it's a logical programming of the pup switching avoiding long hours of soldering

you use your laptop or Iphone and instead of the classical ASS pup switching you could have something like for instance
pos1 H splitted
Pos2 bridge in parallel
Pos3 inner coil bridge serie with outer coil Neck
...

so if I'm correct you can virtually connect the PUPs in any of switching configuration, you will be able to restore factory setting very easily too

Its a new fandangled switching system that's going to be available soon Norrin. More tonal options.

Technically yeah ur right, but man your readers digest summary of the game changer kinda rattled me. U r right that it is a new switching system kinda, but trust me it is so much more than just another guitar / system that plugs into a machine and downloads a laser guided solo tone from NASA. I got a really in depth demo by sterling at namm in Nashville, and was stunned. I can't go into specifics cause I have no no idea what is sensitive to the company, but suffice to say it is appropriately titled. I was slack jawed and wanted it instantly .... And I can't emphasize this enough..... Beacause Of How It Sounded!!! and the fact that it made tones, that were never technically possible before, a reality!!!NOT BECAUSE ITS A NEAT iGIZMO!!! . It does some neat tricky stuff, but the real beauty of it is...how it sounds! While seemingly other manufacturers are thinking along the lines of.... "hey man... We gotta get us a dern smartguitar to market that plugs into all them gizamajiggers kids is using to skate the intraweb" "jethro go to 24 hour walmart and buy us a sack of iNouns. Bring em back here and glue em onto the guitars we couldn't move last year." "now theys new and interactive.... Uuuummm.... Self teaching guitars. Right. Tell the parents the kids just put on the built in headset, and the guitar will silently teach your child how to play itself for free. they'll save a thousand bucks a year on music lessons, mega musics gonna love these!!!" this junk is everywhere in the stores. And unfortunately it must b where the big money is cause u can't escape it. So what I really loved about the demo was that I could tell sterling couldn't care less about the "Gizmo" aspect of the unit. He hardly even mentioned what this would or could plug in to and communicate with. what he was really excited about ....(and This is what I love about sterling)..... Was the fact that he had ultimately used technology to sidestep.... Technology. He had come up with a way to not only harness and deliver the true natural sound of the bass guitar but given us the ability to instantly store and access the nearly infinite tonal combinations that have always been there but we just had no way to get at them.

Sidenote: going into this demo, I already respected and admired bp. In the middle of it, the man became my hero. Wanna know why??? Well I'm gonna tell u anyways. He's a visionary. He's more passionate about music than I ever could have imagined. And i hate to say this, but especially for someone whos owns and runs a manufacturing company. Ive been doing this a long time, and trust me, this is nowhere near the norm. Pushing musical boundaries is really what switches this cat on. And I heard something about BBQ sauce too but I saw this with my own eyes. Do u guys realize how completely insane he is to b fooling with us??? The man is INNOVATING in a completely insane / unstable at best , razor thin margin industry. I told him straight to his face that he's nuts to actually have the guts first of all to even have skin in this game at all, but then to actually be taking massive risk by being creative and challenging his own clients concept of the musical instrument he is determined to redifine is truly truly inspiring. Andi honestly have never seen anything likeit before. He should b cranking out $79 plywood silo kiddie packs overseas, and golfing. Instead he is here daily hanging out with us???? There's only one possible explanation for it. He wants to b. I don't know about u guys, but I amso grateful for it. Thanks for doin what u do bp. It has not gone unnoticed. U are truly an inspiration for continuing to give yourself to what you are clearly passionate about. There are many of us that would have quit this game a long time ago if we thought for a fleeting moment that we could b remotely happy doing something else. Anything else would b smarter and more stable/ profitable. We are still here because against all sane counsel of wives accountants and attorneys , we want to b. It's who we are and what we love. There is no doubt in my mind that u are one of us. While Your innovations and expertise are invaluable to us as players, the fact that you are still passionate, still pushing the envelope, and still chasing this dream with us means just as much, if not more to us as humans. Sometimes it's just nice to know you're not the only weird one.

I like your enthusiasm cyoungnashville, but your long winded (despite all the "u"s and "b"s) rant told us exactly nothing more about it than the fact that you were impressed by it. I like my summary better thanks.

at least Craig has seen and heard it in action. if he is convince that's already a great point :)

Craig is a session musician, writer, producer in Nashville, TN. he has worked with artists such as Jewel, Elton John, The Wreckers (me on "My Oh My"), Citizen Cope, Earth Wind & Fire, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Megadeth, Jessica Simpson, The Idigo Girls, and The Cardigans amongst others. (from his my space)

if a pro like Craig is blown away by the game changer, no doubt we will all be :p

GHynes. You havent seen it touched it and felt it but yours was better?
FOrget the stuff about me.... Do you know who Craig is and what he has played on and what he does for a living? I promise you will play the gamechanger and remember this post and say..."wow I guess my one dimensional reduction and judgement of something I never experienced....and at the same time slamming an A list session player who took the time to actually write something passionate about it was pretty small minded" But then again you probably wont. THis is the ugly part of the forum Why did you have to respond? I dont get you guys sometimes.

Now it isnt about me....seriously. Craig if I did anything is build a team. I have wanted many things out of the industry that I was born into. One of them is to get us un hogtied from off the shelf switches and their limitations that have ultimately shaped the popular tonal palates. The challenge is to do this without coloring the sound. What Ghynes doesnt know is that the gamechanger will evolve into something that can control your effects rack, amp settings , recording set ups....it is an intuitive controller that leaves the tone alone.... it just unleashes it. Can you imagine a five way switch that each stop is programmed with everything from effects to amp settings....and then you use the push pull tone pot and there are 5 more? The great thing is that the guitar does not look different or intuitively perform differently....you dont have a mess of knobs or a special sequence...it act likes an old school guitar...and if the batteries go dead it reverts to the factory settings or what ever you have programmed on your personal gamechanger webpage.....(that you dont have to have internet service to operate...oh yeah and you dont have to download any software. Plug your guitar into your computer go to the webaddress once (to register) and it recognizes the model and walks you through your set up. Oh yeaj and if you want to know what settings Craig used for the Ben folds Five stuff or lady antibellum....(if we havent run him off yet) he will have a public page with his settings that you click one time and they are added to your favorite programs.

It may have been my concept...but the execution needs to be credited to Drew and Dudley and the engineering team at Music Man.

I will fold it in when we figure out this resonance thing that drives me daily.

GHynes please understand that I am not trying to piss you off but really you were so far off it is kind of sad.

i cant b run oft bp. im just blown away that i found a kindred spirit in, of all unlikely places, a major gear company??? it blows my mind. you have the infrastructure to turn out any mass produced crap u think u can make $$$ on, and instead you guys have the heart and soul of a small boutique, and continue to put out gear that speaks to me on the deepest level. i really am just blown away and as passionate as u r about it. i dont mind the heat or naysayers... im looking for converts...sometimes you gotta rattle peoples cages to actually help them get to a new place. i dont care if some think im an overjealous idiot..... im looking for the one that will go back... reconsider the potential he didnt understand at the time, and then come back and thank me later. when i find a good thing, u cant shut me up.... i want everyone to know about it. we need you guys to keep doing what youre doing.... so the least i can do to contribute to this team is b the guy out front in the sandwich board workin a megaphone.
