I'm not asking for an exact number obviously; but I would presume that these guitars would be more than their regular models with out the extra electronics correct? If so it would be well worth it.

I hope as EBMM progresses the idea - it becomes feasible to sell the game changer in an upgrade kit fashion for guitars produced pre-concept. I have a "few" ebmm guitars that I would add it too. (I would not be a true knucklehead if I did not ask for the moon after being given the world.

man, very cool. perhaps more sophisticated/advanced/complicated than I am (or ever will be) a player .... but definitely something that has me very interested.

Wow, I just feel in love with EBMM all over again. I have always wanted a guitar that is currently in production from this other company that claims to have 13 usable sounds. They would neer return quote back to dealers that I called because I wanted a "plain" version of it with out all the visual upgrades. I am so glad that never happened. This idea is nuts and I will not bombard the crew with a million question. Needless to say it won't be avalible in time for the DD or for that matter the rest of the year to make it on to a 25th per say. I am just going to greatfully wait to see when it's out and what guitars it is featured on (if there is more than one) and buy it

No, because the stock switching options will still be in place, as per Drew's post earlier.

Well yea I got that, but this means all guitars will have the same switching possibilities right? So aside from woods and pickups they will all get the same pickup configuration sounds right?

Different pickups and different placements will most certainly give different results. I'm wondering if the Luke will be exempt, since you can't split the humbucker.

I may be wrong but I believe you cannot split EMG's. Sorry I don't mean to speculate about stuff I know very little about.

I dont think you can either but we are talking about something totally different here, we do not have near enough info about this yet, remember it is new technology and anything is possible in todays world, we are talking about a chip that works with the analog signal, even EMG are analog just active instead of passive.
I think this is a cool idea, fits right up my alley of having one guitar that does many things, it is one of the main reasons that the 25th is my #1, I have come a long way in what makes my boat float and versatility, tone and looks win.

you can split the humbucker in the Luke by replacing the EMG 85 with the EMG 89 the 89 is splittable(coil tap)... KBaim has one installed in his CBP Luke...and from the EMG site they say it sounds like the 89 when not split so...comes with the Volume/tone with push/pull tap....Problem Solved!

Just kidding. I too am anxious to see where this leads and what comes of it.....
I think it will add a lot to the versality of a particular guitar, but would it really help re-create the essence of a guitar (ie tone) that is made up of the combinations of wood, body shape etc ??? If not, then we can continue to acquire guitars as we see fit......

How cool would that be if the effects processor and midi switcher people got in the ballgame (pun intended).Imagine setting up your presets on your pedal board and including the pickup configurations in your presets! How cool would that be? Imagine downloading JP's or Luke's or SM's guitar AND effect presets on your iPhone and uploading it to your guitar/effects rig.
