I resurrected my interest in the guitar solo on Allright now (thanks to OlPlayer and a great Lick library DVD he has). Loadsa guitarists think they are playing it right but more often than not they are playing an "approximation" of it. Kossof was a huge influence on my guitar playing. I get THE sound I want for this from the JP 6 buckers - nothing else comes close.

Not even your Les Paul Spud??????? (Sorry, I'll get my coat!!)

The truth is - I don't play the Les Paul anymore.
I can't get rid of it because of sentimental reasons - I know that sounds corny but that guitar cost me just under £300 back in the 70's, it was on the road with me for years as my only guitar and paid for itself many times over.

People still remember me playing that guitar 30 years ago and still comment on it.

I have many fond memories of that guitar but I've moved on.

But I'll never lose my love of Koss.

Quite understand.......haven't played my SS in years, but would never part with it.....5 years around the world & loads of dosh earned.......was just enquiring why a JP would sound more like PK than the actual guitar he used?
Anyway, we're wandering again......so let's get back to those lovely MM90s

well, I just received my used lefty ASS MM90 and oh my. These are some killer sounding pickups. I am thinking of selling my strat. I like the single coil sound of these better. Just can't say enough

Out of interest, who makes the MM90s? Is it actually MM, or are they a re-badged pickup from somewhere else?

EBMM, when I was there for the Open House, I saw some workers doing the windings.
