I stumbled across it on GC's page and didn't see anything here yet. So this is the renamed King of the Blues. Backing tracks are up and available to play or download. I've listened to most of them and will probably practice to a few. I don't expect anything more than a T shirt, but am going to give it another try. No idea what guitar I'll use or which store I'll do it in. Anyone else up for it?

I would love to try, but alas, I am a GC employee and am ineligible. You should do it at the Danvers guitar center and we can have a small forum meet up - unless of course, Hopkinton is far from there - I just moved here and have no idea where anything is!

I'm signed up for it -- hopefully I'll make it further than District finals this time around. I didn't own my Axis during last year's competition -- it could be the clincher this year!

I think Dudley should participate, he is a great blues player! I'm gonna download the tracks for practice, I don't think I can participate as I'm not living in the US

yeah they had to rename it king of the blues was too sexist..I didnt think so...but Im old fashioned

I really do not understand how you can associate the words Battle and Music (Blues, Rock or any kind) in the same sentence.
For me a Battle, it's something that gives this result :

I prefer the word King (or Queen) !

I actually like the Danvers and North Attleboro stores a lot as they tend to have lower prices on used stuff. But Natick and Millbury are the 2 nearest me. I did Millbury last year.

Danvers store manager Dave is awesome. He knows what he's doing. Maybe I'll see ya out there!

François, in English we frequently use 'battle' in this kind of context, particularly 'battle of the bands' and 'guitar battle'. Battle of the blues does sound a bit weird though.

Yes I know. It's the same in France we use the English word "Battle" for a lot of craps.
This sort of semantic shift shows that a lot of people are not able to use more than 200 words ...
