GC having an EBMM sale (?)

I stopped by my local GC last night to grab some MIDI cables and noticed they have all their EBMM guitars on sale for -$300 to -$400 their usual sale price. They have a blue HSS Luke III with the roasted neck for about $1300. A JPXI for $2000 and one of their JPX is at $1800. A Silhouette Special for $1100. A Y2D Morse with Floyd bridge for $1700. And a bunch more. I got so overwhelmed with those prices I had to leave immediately after paying my MIDI cables. The temptation to get another EBMM is too much. Not certain if it's just my local GC store having this sale.

It's at the GC store in Kirkland, WA. I haven't checked the one in Seattle though. Funny though is that if you search for the EBMM inventory at the Kirkland, WA store in the GC Platinum Gear website, they still have it listed with their regular sale price. But the price tags in their store, which I saw last night, says otherwise.

GC is doing a January clearance. Saw a Bali burst LIII in Sugar Land for 1960 (down from 2600).

Gonna check the Houston store soon. Had my eye on one if theirs if the price ever dropped.

Anyone got a current GC coupon? They'll work on clearance if it's listed at 99 cents instead of 97.

I just picked up an LIII on clearance at my local GC. They had 2 AL's, 2 Y2D's, and 2 LIII's at ridiculously low prices.

I went to my local GC a couple of weeks back and they had NO EBMMs. They said that GC moved all of them (along with the other high end stuff like PRS's) to other stores. No more EBMMs here for me.

I got my Game Changer from Guitar Center right before Christmas. It had a nice little discount with it but they had to ship it from the warehouse. No big deal though because that means nobody by me has played it other than the folks at EBMM. The only downside was when I received the guitar it was a 2012 model that had been there for a year. They said I could return it and they could try and find a new one then ship it but I decided to keep it for a few reasons. One, I really like this individual guitar. Two, the 2012 was the first year the Game Changer was released to the public. So in 30 or 40 years, I can look back and if the Game Changer has taken off like it should, it will be nice to say I have a first year issued one. After all, what is worth more, a first year issued Strat or a second year issued Strat? Third, the deal I got on the guitar was discounted quite a bit and I got free shipping. So I am content.

Next will be a Mystic Dream JP6 but that will be a ways off because I have to save up for it.

Stopped by my local GC today (Natick, MA) and all EBMM guitars were marked "Clearance". I picked up a 2012 Luke III HSS in Vintage Sunburst for $1300, a decent price I think. The guitar was in need of a serious setup, the trem was way off the body, some protruding fret ends, and 9's (I play 10's). Gave it the once over and it plays MUCH better now. Had to order some saddle height screws to finish the setup (I don't like the feeling on my picking hand of hitting the protruding screws). It also looked like all Mesa Boogie amps were marked "Clearance" as well. Not sure if this is store-by-store or chain-wide.

I just took advantage of this sale as well (first post, BTW) and picked up a JP6 on clearance for $1175. Problem is, I got it home and noticed there is a bump/ridge on the back of the neck that seems to run from the heel to about the 7th fret. I am taking it back today.

Wondering how you can tell an all rosewood neck from roasted maple?
Looking at the pictures on the web of roasted maple, and my neck, the grain on this (and the color) looks like rosewood to me.
Thoughts?

Mystery solved, it is a rosewood neck.
I called Music Man, super nice guy gave me the build info. Apparently a limited run for GC back in 2012 (no wonder the frets were sprouting a bit). Guitar had been in the warehouse for over a year. None of the usual store-wear that you see on so many guitars at GC, this thing was pristine.
