I just visited the GC in Rockville and was amazed to find they had 15 EBMMs in stock and displayed together. Before I have only ever seen 3 at most. It was such a pleasure to be able to try almost the entire range in one sitting including an Al. Looks like GC is doing an amazing job working with EBMM and that things are really looking up.

You're lucky - my last visit to my local GC resulted in finding only one 3 Balls in stock. 1 Sterling, 1 Stingray and one JP. And they use to have a lot......doesn't look good.

I think it depends on what GC you go to, they (Marty) once said that they like a few prime stores that tend to get more instruments than some of the other stores. Like here in Boston the Boston and Danvers stores have a larger selection of Balls. The store that I goto the Natick store is lucky if they have 1 or 2.

Certain GC have come around big time the North Dallas store now has a constant supply and they are displayed in the platinum room, though they all tend to be JP's or Lukes both BFR and regular models, just got a call from the manager that he has a new ASS in stock much better than a year ago.

Been a while, but last time I was in the nearest GC, they had two: trans gold Axis and used trans gold ASS with a *yuck* lacquered neck. They may have had some basses, too. I wasn't in the market for a bass at the time and didn't look in the bass section.

The GC in Cincinnati has no new EBMM guitars.
They do have a few basses, including a Bongo that appears to have been relic'd by the local 14 year old contingent.
I usually stop in at least every other week, and I have not seen a new Ball guitar at that store in at least a year.

no kidding, it's pretty grim around here in st. small/minninoplace.

4 GC's, and there's literally like 6 Balls between them.

edit:
and I still haven't seen a BFR in person.

There are 3 GC's in the Greater Atlanta area. I think one of them is a "platinum" store or whatever. This one had about 10 or so EBMM guitars (not counting basses) including a BUNCH of the JP's and some ASSs. The other two stores have maybe one or two.

The GCs near me (there are some in the area that are far, and I don't know what they have at this time) have a grand total of 1 black Luke.

What's with the hijack? This guy acts like he owns the place. ;)

BTW, I finally played an AL last month and it was an incredible guitar. If I get another Electric any time soon that will definitely be the one.

hmmm...that must have been very recently - the last time I was out at the Edina one there were no BFR's, one JP6, and a few basses. In fact, the people I asked really knew nothing about "BFR's"...finally, one guy I talked to did know what I was talking about, and said that they had one BFR JP a while ago, but sold immediately.

I've called out there a couple of times since, and it's been bas(s)ically the same report. Same goes with the other three around here.

I'll have to actually take a drive around town for the four-GC tour again soon.

BP has mentioned this before, but only certain GC's carry EBMM guitars, they all tend to stock basses, I have four GC's within a reasonable driving distance, one is the platinum store and carries the largest stock, another wil carry a few, while the other two do not stock the guitars it is the way GC has it set up, I tend to buy from our forum dealers, but my Tobacco Burst ASS came from GC, get to know them and they will work with you:)

So now you get it! They are great great great guitars. The most unsung guitar on the planet. I get emails or PM's almost every day from people asking for Albert advice, its funny! Love spreading the love.
