So the girlfriend and myself hit the road to GC today.

On the way I was thinking of what amps I may be interested in, since the Eden sold. I didnt feel like it paired with the Berg stack as well as it did with just the Berg HT210S.

So I go into GC, look around, and nothing grabs me. Head to the other GC in the Atlanta area that about 10 minutes from the one we were at.

Walk in snoop around, and what do I see... nothing, again. Right as I turn to walk away, I see a familiar footswitch. Next to it sits an EBMM HD-500. Marked at the right price, I knew this was meant to be. I miss the last one, and as scarse as these are on the used market, I knew it was either make a move or regret it.

So heres my second HD-500. Its great. Pairs with the Berg HT115/HT210 great.

I wish more people had heard these amps. They are really great, and Im stoked to have another.

James, LOL, I promise I took those today.

I had the GK Neos when I had the last one. The HD-500 pairs with the Bergs much better than the GK Neos.

Jack. Paid a good bit less than the fair market value. They had it marked reasonable, but I got a 10% discount that they were offering form 8AM - 10AM. Weighs 25 pounds on my bathroom scale. Id love to say Ill never sell it, but if it comes to it, and you want dibs, say so.:D

I have no idea what market value is on these, but PM me and I'll tell you if you should put me on the "Me! Me! Me!" list!

LMAO! I don't know how many times I've come back to the same rig and basses, but after a while it does take the wandering eye away from other brands.

Now, I just have to battle GAS for different finishes on both Rays and Bongos...:D

Figgy and Jack. The deal was pretty sweet. It was marked $499. So that and tax, would have been fair market value. I told the bass manager Id take it with me if he would do $450 out the door. He checked the numbers and said he could do $475 out the door. So you can see why I didnt pass it up.

I just cranked the CD player and did a few tunes. This amp impressed me last go round, even though the GK Neos were not the best match. With the Bergs, this amp knocked me off my A#$. While playing to some Something Corporate, I got lost in how good the tone was. You know those moments Im talkin about.

And to close, of ALL the amps Ive owned, this one as the BEST string to string balance. Its even top to bottom, no matter how you EQ it.

This one, well, I have to hang on to it Im afraid.

I really think that the HD-500/Berg rig, may be the go to rig for me. I may get more stuff, but Im afraid Ill be holding on to the HD-500. It really made my SR5 sing.

So say what you will. This wont move anytime soon.

That's what you said about the Ampeg, and the iAmp, and the first Eden... :p

All of which is great gear, that I have nothing bad to say about. However, the HD-500/Berg stack is me. Its the tone in my head.

I agree Travis. The HD 500 is a great amp but my 1001RBII just sounded better with the Neos. I would love to hear the HD 500 with a couple of Audiophile 2x12's.

Damn, it looks like I overpaid for mine. :p In reality, the HD-500 is easily worth what I paid you for it. You got a great amp for a great price. I can understand why you won't get rid of yours. I use mine mostly with my GK RBH 115, and it sounds superb. I'd love to check out those Bergs, but I'm probably going to be seeking some of the Audiophile cabs to match with the HD-500 instead.

guys the irony is that these are Mark Bass amps.........I didnt get ANY support on the retail front and it wasnt fair to Marco. The funniest thing is that I set him up directly with GC (with no reward) so they would be more affordable and to do Marco a favor...GC is going crazy with the mark amps in thier internal evaluations. They just put his acoustic amps up against everythin they seell and it KILLED them.
