Guys-

Given that there are always requests to buy/sell EB gear and they clutter up the regular board, is there any chance of starting a separate "gear for sale" page on the board?

I for one love to see who's selling what and am often buying EB gear for my addicted self and friends. Would love to see guitars, bases, volume pedals, all things EBMM for sale in a single place.

If, however, y'all think I'm smoking crack, feel free to say so :D

For sale page

I think that would be a great idea. :D I've been looking to pick up another SiloS and who knows what else...

This is covered in the Rules of the Road thread: basically, you can advertise used EBMM equipment here, as a courtesy, but since it's a corporately sponsored site, it's not really a good idea to have a formal "gear for sale" forum for a variety of reasons. There are plenty of other sites out there that specialize in that sort of thing...

In addition to what Jimi said, people have been getting pissy with me when I delete a for sale thread started by a 1st time poster, and we are very close to not allowing ANY posts about selling gear, EB/MM or not.

This forum is for the discussion of instruments, not the sale of them.

Fair enough guys- point taken. I figure a good used market is good for any vendor, since it creates hype and offers customers the ability to offload old equipment and upgrade to newer items. But yeah, you're right, this isn't flea-bay so we can do it elsewhere :p

Anyway ... another round of applause for Jon, Jimi, Derek, Big Poppa, and everyone else that's made these forums possible.

I think I figured out the main pro/con thing here.

Pro

A good deal would make buyer happy, and seller with new cash possibly looking to purchase other EBMM.

CON

No way for EBMM to stand behind the quality of instruments sold here as used. Let's face it some of us are disgusting :p

I've played mine after eating el pollo loco chicken, then licking my fingers.

That's the extent of the abuse on mine, but there's much worse out there I'm sure.

I'd hate to pick up your guitar after you've played it.

"Why does your guitar smell like chicken?"

Scott.
