That was jammin'! That "stand-up" style/sound was great!

Big Poppa stole my trick of playing with the fretting hand reversed which I also do sitting down with the bass flat just like that or while standing. I wonder if this theft entitles me to an endorsement...

He's been doing that since the dawn of time. (It came from working in the setup department.)

Also, TPB posted this:

That's logical with the bass being flat while doing a set-up. Nearly every night someone remarks about me playing with my fretting hand reversed; it's great for show!

I think the earliest documented over the neck fretting goes to Rudy Sarzo with Quiet Riot in the "Cum On Feel The Noize" video.

I tell people often that Sarzo is the one bass player that I remember and acknowledge as doing this during his career. I have a live Dio DVD where he can clearly be seen doing this.

I saw Quiet Riot, Ozzy and Dio back in the day of hair spray. Is that a Sarzo trifecta?

BP appears to have more of a Jeff Healey lap-thing going on there...

Man, the bass is nice for sure, but the big dog is ripping out some fine upright vibey tone out of that thing! How do you make it sound so good?
