Well he designed it. That's a start...
Well there is no doubting that, lol! It just sounded to me kind of like an upright sort of tone, and I'm just curious how he got that tone. This gamechanger thing is damned exciting stuff for a tech nerd like me!

Freakn' awesome video. Love the song. Really love the bass solo. And can't believe the upright tone. Those wouldn't be flats now would they?

Maybe he was using the Gamechanger's technology to assimilate that type of bass tone. Also proper hand muting techniques can make it sound reasonably close. I really enjoyed that clip. I love kick-ass country. Hiland is a smoking guitar player and he's a good singer with a lovely voice which reminds me a little of Vince Gill's voice. Mrs.sitonmybass especially enjoyed it because her father was Elvis Presley's ORIGINAL photographer during his "coming-up" years.

Thats why I posted the qoute and the link to the video. BP answered a question for the bass over in the guitar forums. Someone wanted to know if this was the new Big Al. So this one has the gamechanger in it. I hoped to get a little more nfo this way...

So, sorry for the hijack of the quote BP.

Towards the end you can see that he's not muting with his right hand when he's playing Sarzo style. So I'm leaning towards GameChanger making the tone. Don't get me wrong, BP is playing his butt off. But I'm obsessing with the tubby sound.

guys this is a namm show and Im juggling about 50 people only one that doesnt have the breath of 1,000 camels asses and when you shake their hands they are moist... (Handi santitizer time) then Johnny wants to jam and I pick up the bass and start playing....I have no idea what it was set to...it sounded fine and the pick up selector was the least of my concerns...its hanging on while Hiland rips it up

I have mentioned before that the sound individuality of a person comes from their fingertips and flesh and not just the instrument itself.

By now I've must have heard now about 5 or 6 clips of BP playing on various youtube clips, and he has that distinct touch and attack no matter what bass he is playing. Hey thats' the Poppa's sound, can't be recreated, geddit? :D

Guys, just wait until you see this. I have always been a firm believer in the sound coming from the touch and the hands too, but MAN, you will have options with this!

Absolutely! Players sound like themselves regardless of the multitude of variables than can be applied. It's all in the touch, the hands, and the creative spirit of the player. :D
