So, not getting any younger but never had much health issues until 5 years ago and well things seem to just keep happening. So I am becoming a clutz too, I fell off a ladder yesterday and severely injured my left elbow, once swelling goes down most likely need surgery and may never be 100 % again.

So why my rant :) well had to cancel my 30th anni Axis and may/will most likely start reducing my guitars if I cant play much any more, sad but well thats life , keep rocking

Wishing you good fortune in your recovery. I imagine that there would be some ergonomic adjustments you could make if you lose some mobility. Keep us in the loop!

Not the same thing, but I busted up the pinky on my fretting hand several years ago mountain biking ... needed pins, etc. Never healed correctly and it changed how I play. Like all injuries ... I wish I could rewind time.

Yes Keith, getting old sucks. All that crazy crap I did in my teens thru my 30's has my hands, back and knees jacked up. Now 60, my body reminds me every morning that no matter how I feel in my feeble brain, I'm an old man now. :censored:

Here's to a speedy recovery -

Welcome to the club... same thing here. A struggle to hang on to fitness, increasingly clumsy and hurt myself way more than I used to.
And as hard as it is, working on downsizing the instrument collection....
Point is, you're not alone....
Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am fortunate to have lasted this long, and that I'm not quite done yet....

Well that sucks. Sorry to hear that Keith. You WILL recover and be playing again. I'm no spring chicken either, and I took a nasty fall on the ice this past winter. Jammed up my elbow, my back, cracked some ribs and smacked the back of my head. Yeah – it took a while to recover, but I'm feeling pretty good now. I know that was six months ago, but time heals things. Just take care of yourself and do whatever treatment has been prescribed for your elbow. I've no doubt you'll be back to shredding in no time! 🤘
