Hi everybody.

The gigging season for me is about to begin and I am after some advice regarding gig bags for my stingrays.

Over the last couple of months I have gone from owning one solitary SR5 and some other stuff to now being in the position of owning some fantastic basses.

Namely:

SR5 in Lava Pearl
SR4 lined fretless, black
SR4 20th Anniversary
SR4 30th Anniversary.

I always take at least 2 basses to each gig but don't have enough room in my car for 2 basses in hard cases (plus I want to keep the cases the 20th & 30th came in looking good)

So, my question is - can you recommend good quality gig bags for these basses?

I can't seem to find any Musicman ones - these would be my choice if they existed.

Evil bay seems to be full of cheap and nasties - that really grinds my gears.

I am in the UK if that helps.

I have thought about the bigger car idea but I enjoy driving.

I have done my advanced driving test which means that I have been tested to the equivelant of what the police are. I have also done track and rally driving.

for those of you living in the UK who will know that my car is - I drive a 3 door Vauxhall Astra. I also need to be able to carry either an Ashdown ABM115 or Crate 2x15", cable box and 6 unit rack for my amp etc.

This isn't my car - mine looks much cooler.

Did I say that I love driving?

I drove around Scotland and I have to say I hate roundabouts, beautiful country, but damn, put up a stop sign! :D

Gig bags should have a lot of padding, at least an inch. Levy's are supposed to be pretty good. I have a couple of MF bags and they are nice but I only use them on my jam nights.

Roundabouts are fantastic, especially mini ones.

absolutely no one knows how to approach them.

if any of you guys are planning on coming to the UK, give me a shout.

There are stop signs but not that many.

An estate or 'wagon' would suggest that I have kids.

I like my single dude passion wagon - despite the fact that I am happily married. I just terrify my wife whe I am driving.

I prefer my gig bags to be made from wood or some other hard material, but it hurts my head when I use the shoulder straps. Sigh.

BTW, the EB/MM gig bags are nice. Well padded. Buy some. Now. (and they don't hurt when you use the shoulder straps)

I use a lakland gig bag that is made by levy's.
I think we knuckleheads would be all over a new Ernie Ball designed gig bag, there's nothing wrong with the current design but it seems a little outdated.
Sorry if it seems like i'm pushing it

Yeah Levy's gig bags are extreemly good and would probably serve your purpose well.

By the way nice car :p I can remember when I lived in England and we were pottering all over the place in a Vauxhall Cavalier :) ofcourse I was only 4 years old at the time.
