I have both the Mono and Incase. Both are very well constructed and will protect the bass from all daily knocks and rough handling in something like a touring van. The Mono wins style points with the two tone look and in handling with its slimmer profile and lighter weight. The Incase wins in function. It has more room for accessories and is more rigid (but much heavier). It is actually a low profile, soft sided case.

As for function: There were times during rough seas that my basses, in their Incase gig bags, were tossed around violently in my sea going office. Sometimes they even fall face down on the steel deck. The gig bags delivered as advertised and protected my babies from damage. I think that says something about Incase's products.

One more question for you -- will a Bongo fit in the Mono and/or the Incase? I'm currently Bongo-less but that's only a temporary condition. Thanks!

Yes a Bongo 4 fits in a Mono or Incase. I have no idea if a Bongo 5 or 6 does however my Sterling 5 fits.

Apollo, actually it fell too but it was on top of the pile because I normally have it behind the others (used less)

Body Glove Hybrid Bass Guitar Bag

They don't make them anymore, but they're are some still out there.

THEY ARE LONGER than the Standard Bag, which with the Headstock...you will want.

Mine is perfect

Ditto, my Bongo 5hh fits great in my Hybrid bag. Although, I found that the stiffness of the top panel, was causing my treb/hi mid knobs to bend. I made a small rigid foam bolster to keep pressure off the knobs.

GC has a sale on Reunion Blues Continental gig bags. $149. I'm a bit of a backpack whore (Kifaru, Mystery Ranch, etc etc) and so I am pretty anal about these things and it's a nice bag IMO. Not as overbuilt as an Incase but I don't think anything else in the market is.

I have owned them all over the years and the IGIG is the best single bag (in a VERY TIGHT race with the Sadowsky Portabag) and the MONO is the best double bag. I have each and use them exclusively over hard cases all the time. I have had good use from both the Incase single and DUB bags BUT I have had to return 2 DUB bags and a single to have zippers replaced. I don't have the time to do that anymore so I just do not use or recommend them now. The IGIG gives you a LOT of room to carry most anything you could ever need in a bass bag. The Sadowsky is much the same but is not quite as big but is a definitely slimmer profile. I feel 100% comfortable gigging any of these all the time.

I would LOVE to see what EBMM could come up with in a road giggable bag!!

Peace,

T

I want to check this one out. I had the iGig and it was a great case. Great storage, but it's almost too much of a good thing. If you fill up the storage, the bag ends up being pretty heavy.:D Great bag if you have a micro head.

I've been using the Wolfpak hybrid bag from MF for my Stingray; it's a hybrid, very roomy with lots of room and light. It's tough and rigid but has straps for easy carrying. At $79, it compared well with my Contego I use for my Fender (oops!)Jazz. I would be careful with the dimensions, though, as the Ray fits perfectly with little room to spare--which is a good thing. Great case, really.

I can't say that I have used them all but I am very happy with my iGig. I actually chose a model they have that does not have the extra bag in front for micro heads, laptop, etc. It makes for a pretty slim bag. It has a hard bottom insert for vertical drop protection and a neck strap to keep your bass in place. Very nice build quality.
