Hi everybody.

Since my rock gigs are very seldom, I try to document them the best I can. The last one took place on April 28th and I hired a guy to capture it in video. He gave me the DVD last Friday and I've wanted to post an excerpt for sharing with all of you (these Internet services degrade video quality a lot, BTW).

Nothing special here. I just liked the performance. As you can see in the link above, we played many well known rock tunes, but I decided to post the only Spanish-sung tune because our singer wasn't totally honest with English lyrics (something that most audiences don't care about where I live), but I feel like

with all of you. Anyway, it's a cool rock-funk tune by a great argentinean band. Check it out! The sound is distorted, but I think everything is clearly audible. Aside from some out of tune vocals, the only noticeable mistake (for those who know the song) is that adrenaline took over us and played it faster than the original. Lots of fun. Hope you enjoy it!

P.S.: There are some Bongo close-ups in the video (and I think Big Poppa likes to see his offspring exposed in action :D ).

Bravo!

Te digo una cosa, Alvaro: tu puedes tocar el bajo, hombre. De veras. Aunque otros quizas te dirian algo diferente, es la verdad.

Hey Alva how do you set your tone controls to get that lovely tone?

I normally set my fretted Bongo (my approach to fretless is very different) with everything full blast (mine is a double humbucker plus piezo model). I only roll back the low mids so they are around 70%. Of course, with such "extreme" settings, I can't have my Bongo at full volume. It's normally at half.

Sorry for reliving this thread. I've just uploaded to YouTube [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sty2GHhZz3E"]YouTube - Maiden mini-collage (sort of)[/ame] (two different songs joined together without vocal sections) for a reply to a TalkBass thread. Of course, I also want to share it with the EBMM community. Many mistakes as usual (mainly thanks to adrenaline), but hope you find it enjoyable anyway.

Hey, my colombian friend, I'll just call you Fast Fingers, ok? But not only fast, tighter than a dolphins' ass too:D
Can't really see from the vid, but are you playing two- or three-finger with your right hand?

Thank you, Magnus! :) I always play with two fingers. The only time I used three fingers in that performance was in the fast notes of Aces High's intro (one of the very few things I play with three fingers and it feels really cool, BTW).

Cool?
I have been (ok not too hard) working on incorporating my right hand ring finger since september last year, and I have come to a point where I occasionally use it without tinking.
But practicing it does not feel cool, it feels like I'm 15 or something and trying very hard to lay down the fountation for Smoke On The Water without ruining the groove;)
I practice two-finger without index, two-finger without middle and strict alternating 3-finger (ring-middle-index) but so far I often lose myself in the fact that the second bar is middle-index-ring-middle, the third bar is index-ring-middle-index and so on.
But I'll get there, and probably before I have learnt eruption at full speed too:p

Btw, i think it was Aussiemark who said something like "I use whatever finger's handy" and that's what I'm looking for with my three-finger stuff. Just more fingers to do the plucking when the notes are needed fast...
