First gig with the Dargie, first gig with the new band. Played the Dargie all night thru a Markbass SA450 and Avatar B210 cab. Got lots of compliments on my tone, and it's a great looking bass for sure.

My Laklands are staying home more often than not these days. It seems like I'm grabbing this bass for most every rehearsal too.

Here are a few pics, with one obligatory pic of our singer.

Nice! I love Dargies. Very special colour, but in a good way. It's not made many of them, right?

But I did see at least 2 guitars that wasn't EBMMs! I guess that will change soon?

I love gigging the Dargies. The soundman last night asked, "What IS that?" And then, "Hey, those are MARTINIS!"

Yup.

I get a similar response Jack. No one I have run into knows what a Dargie is. I like it better that way.

Great pics!

Sweet bass....Good lookin' singer too. You guys aren't by chance located in Georgia are you. I'm pretty sure that was the state....I was in training in DC a few months ago, with a girl that looked JUST like her. If she doesn't work on a Military installation of sorts, then it isn't her....I asked because I was in class with this girl for a week, and we were both talking about upcoming Halloween gigs we had coming up.

Thanks fellas. RaginRog, we're in NC, so it must have been her clone down in GA. The long haired guitarist is a real gear whore, has a couple EBMM guitars, but the other guy plays that Gibson exclusively.

Surprisingly, I didn't get too many comments or questions about the bass itself. Then again, there weren't many other musicians in the crowd.

I reckon I should update my profile. I'm in Raleigh. This Dargie actually belonged to the guitarist pictured beside me. I helped him find it a couple years ago. Once he and I formed this band, I started playing it and really liked it. Since he didn't play it much, I managed to talk him into selling it to me.

Hey my Dargie brutha! How you like the 450? It's mine ain't it? Looking for another one, or a LMII as a back up. Just giged again with my old/your old Darie SR5 - everytime I went down no the LowB the drummer just smiled!

Haha...nothing wrong with Gear Whores!! Hell, we both play Musicman gear...we're sorta close to being Gear Whores...ain't we??

I prefer gigs that don't have many other musicians in the audience...it seems some like playing the role of critic far too often.

Take Care.

Hey Mark and Bob, it's good seeing you here. Bob, I bought your Dargie after playing this one. Once he decided to sell it, I grabbed it and then realized I didn't need two. Your SA450 is becoming my go-to amp these days. It's just so much easier to haul than the 40 pound Genz Benz, and the tone just kills. You are dead right about the low B on these basses, I was rattling the windows with it!

Mark, good seeing you too bud. I gigged your '66 Precision last month when I subbed with my former blues band. It was a blast playing that bass, and it really sat in the mix well. I've got some recordings of the gig somewhere, I'll try to mail yo a link to some if you are interested.
