Gig'n with the Juarez Brothers Photo

These guys are the Holmes Brothers of Costa Rica. And check out the pasty white boy playing that beautiful buttercream ray. Oh man, I'm in heaven.

I love playing latin music, although I would never try it in public.

At home, though, it really makes me think harder than I usually do about rhythm, composition and note placement.

It ain't 4/4.

I had no idea it would be so much fun. And since I've never played any latin music myself, I think they liked the American Rock twist I seemed to put on their music. It has certainly been the most amazing 2 weeks of playing I've ever had.

That gig looks way cool! I would like to hear some of that.

Well, Mr. Mobay, it just so happens it was recorded live. Once it's mixed, I'd be happy to send you a copy.

These guys are truly amazing. 3 part harmonies that reminded me of - dare I say it - The Beatles.

Thanks for asking.......tbone

Photoshop was used but only to make it black and white. Otherwise, that really is my fiddy year old arse up there. And the amp is a small 200 watt 2 - 10 Nemesis made by Eden. Great little amp that weighs in less than 50 lbs. Perfect for this venue (check out mississippistudios.com).

I've owned one of those...quite potent for smaller gigs!

Pattiejay,
All settings are typically set straight up at 12:00. The Stingray does the rest. And believe me, none of my other basses sound nearly as good as the ray.
