We play a lot of Croatian songs, but from the american / english ones - I will give you the list as soon as I find the set list paper. We have at least about 30 english songs I think.

Set lists? We don't need no stinkin' set lists!

Actually, my current outfit is an all-originals band that plays 45 min- hour set; listing a set of originals here would be futile.

HOWEVER...

Another band I was doing fill-in gigs with about a year ago made their money doing the whole 4-hour bar band marathon. They had about 45 originals and 60 covers to choose from. We NEVER went in with a set list. We knew the first two songs of the set; after that, the singer would just turn around and blurt out a song, which we were supposed to follow.

Not fun for this sub, considering I'm not a real 'cover' player, and only knew the 15 originals off the CD they gave me.

But they were the nicest guys in the world, made decent cash, and we had some wild gigs, but their 'no set list' policy raked me over the coals.

One of the best ABBA songs I've ever played was "Does your mother know" (I can't believe I'm admitting that I play ABBA)

Ha! Somewhere I have an MP3 of us doing "Fernando" in sort of a Badfinger style.

Song list in no particular order because we're always fooling with it:

Saw Her Standing There - Beatles
These Boots Are Made for Walken - Nancy Sinatra
Tiger By The Tail - Buck Owens
Ring of Fire - JC
That'll Be the Day - Hank
Can't Buy Me Love - Beatles
I'm A Believer - Monkees
Standing on a Rock - can't remember
Truck Song - Lyle Lovett
Act Naturally - Buck Owens
Things We Said Today - Beatles (but we play it like a samba)
Jambalaya - Hank
California Stars - can't remember
Big Big Love - can't remember, might be Bob Wills
My Babe - can't remember, might be Bob Wills
One After 909 - Beatles
Little Sister - Elvis P
Folsom Prison Blues - JC
Why Don't We Do It In The Road? - Beatles
The Thrill is Gone (bluegrass version)
The Key's In The Mailbox - Buck Owens
Move It On Over (the hank version, of course)
I'm So Lonesome - Hank W
Hey Good Lookin - Hank W
Mrs Robinson - more like the Lemonheads than Simon & Garfunky
Buick City Complex - old 97s
Mystery Dance - Elvis Costello
Burnin' Love - Elvis The Other One
Over the Rainbow - the root-five version
My Gal is Red Hot - who knows?
Matchbox - Carl Perkins
Munsters Theme/Secret Agent Man Medley
Solitary Man - Neil Diamond
Wife - Old 97s
One Way Out - Elmore James?
'Deed I Do - some band from the 1920s
Cry Baby Cry - Beatles
8 Days A Week - Beatles
Lucy In The Sky W/Diamonds - Beatles

I am beginning to think we are not really a ballad type band.

There is more but you don't really care.

great song lists?

ya see...thats what I'm talking about!I totaly took some of these tunes ideas and added them to my own set lists.Good Lovin...I had forgotten about that tune.
We did do "Does your mother know " on new years...it was our current "Beorns" last night , so we pretty well had to do it.You should check out a tune called "Eagle" by ABBA, very dark song from a dark just pre breakup period of the band.If you have an origional band you should post your web site, and if you don't have a website....why the hell not?

Sir Funky - This is a great thread. I too am finding a few candidates to add to the list.

Jack - we tried "Eight Days a Week" - for us it was a train wreck... Figured only the Beatles could do it right! ;)

But "Saw Her Standing There" rocks! And we'll be adding "Can't Buy Me Love" next! :)

I used to play in a trio where we just improvised for 3 or 4 hours :D

No singer either :D We actually got tons of gigs.

We called ourselves Angry Sandwich.

That was the best setlist I ever had.
