Hey there,
Who else could I share these pics with but you guys?! Have been thinking about what to do re: amplification for a few weeks now, and decided to use the Easter Bank Holiday Monday to take the plunge.
Since getting my Bongo 4HH a month or so back, all I have had at home to play it through is a little Orange 20W practice amp, which is nothing more than sufficient to hear the sound of my bass. My original amp was a Trace Elliot Commando affair which was exceptionally heavy and not that great sounding. Anyways, I decided to donate it to my parents church, and get something new that would do justice to the Bongo:
Picked this up this afternoon from The Bass Centre in Brune Street, London. Such a big sound from such a small amp. For anyone interested, the model is the Mini CMD 121P.
I'm not really gigging enough to justify going for the head/cab setup, so a manageable combo seemed like the obvious choice. I haven't had the opportunity to play it loads in the flat yet (neighbours and flatmates to be taken into consideration) but I was very impressed at how easily it filled the space in the store when I played a Stingray 4HS through it earlier.
Looking forward to taking it through its paces soon. And I'm sure I'll work out how to afford it soon as well! This is one of the few times being single has its little advantages (ie. no girlfriend/wife to try and justify the expense to!!).
